[Bug] Ladder difficult to climb

  It's also difficult to place the ladder properly in my opinion because there is no snap point.

  And also, it should auto climb or click 'F' once to climb instead of holding F to interact with the ladder. Holding the button to interact is not really immersive IMO

  Also, getting off a ladder at multiple levels should be possible. At the moment if you have a ladder going through two levels there is no way to get off at the middle level.

  When adding a ladder to the side of a building, the height of the ladder should match the height of the building.

  Was playing 2 player on Weekend3, I could climb a ladder we made perfectly fine, yet my team made would get to the top and then it would jerk backwards and he would be back on the ladder again. 98/100 he would fail to climb the ladder, while 2/100 I would fail to climb the ladder. I even went over to his PC and sure enough, I would fail as much as he was, when it was fine on my PC.

  Whenever getting to the top of a ladder, the character gets stuck and falls to the ground. Tried multiple ways, and always happens with only my character in game.

  Adding another voice in saying that the ladders appear to be more/less impossible to climb for different people. It's the getting off at the top. I had two companions in my prospect who were able to dismount and move forward fine. When I get to the top, the camera moves in front of it like I'm getting 'over' the top, but then when it would disconnect from the ladder, it snaps me back behind the ladder -- and not engaged with it anymore, so I fall to the ground.
  
  More of a pressing issue now that the ice caves have a very different strategy if you can use ladders or are forced to use ramps.

  ladders in this game are trash atm. if you put one inside, its either in the middle of the room, or it makes you walk off the building, and if you put them outside, its even worse, they dont snap, and they go from ground up. so if you have a foundation, your ladder sits at ground level, which makes it then not reach the roof, and you cannot put another ladder because it would stick up above the roof and look dumb.
  
  Ladders need to snap, so when you put it outside it snaps to the roof level evenly and then you can put one below and make it go into the ground if needed

  Beta 1 and Bet2 I was able to use aldders without issue, but beta3 I had a difficult time climbing up them without falling off

  Pressing up or down when on a ladder should move the character in the respective direction, no matter where the character is looking. As it is, the player can be pressing DOWN to move down a ladder, but if they also look down, they start moving up. Looking away from the ladder also reverses direction.

  When my teammates reach the top of any ladder I've built, they automatically fall off it backwards. They cannot climb up onto any surfaces at the top of the ladder.

  Experiencing this for the first time in BW4, and it seems like it only happens when I'm not host. I climb to the top of the ladder, and the majority of the time it jumps around a bit and my character falls back down to the bottom floor rather than stepping off on to the floor above.

  With an item in-hand, I stop moving on the ladder when I stow it, despite not releasing the movement key. Switching back from map is the same - game doesn't scan for movement input, so you have to release W and press again.
  
  Not exactly game-breakers in ANY way but do interrupt your flow and stand out to me because of this.

  The ladder system definitely needs addressing. Having the ladders snap to the same vertical sections as the beams would be much better, and useable. Also, actually getting onto a platform at the top of the ladder, even when the ladder ends up the right height, sometimes doesn't work. Throws you down to the bottom, or just gets stuck.

  If we are going to have missions that require ladders to access this really needs to be addressed. My friends and I struggled with the desert mission because of this. Took awhile to get just right and collect the parts.

  i was climbing a one-stage ladder to escape a cougar and it would 100% interrupt and pull me off before i can climb over. can we just make it a low-medium chance of them interrupting and pulling the player off?

  My friend does not like involving himself in communities anymore, due to certain reasons of some people saying certain things and acting specific ways (when is all of that going to stop???)
  
  Anyway - i am posting on his behalf ...
  
  He has never once been able to get *over* a ladder (even in a solo game... he streamed it to discord) .. In Riverlands was the biggest issue when we built ladders for the way back over the wall...
  
  He had to remove his spawn bed from the base we made once we got over... then he had to get himself killed... losing his suit mod... axe... etc (from the station you buy with those dollars) and almost rage quit because of it
  
  ** i even put a platform infront of the ladder so he could *fall over* but every single time when the *i am climbing over* animation happens... he falls BACKWARDS

  Can we please get a rework of the ladders? the current system for ladders is horrendous. my friend can't climb any of our ladders in our house because of it being "f to interact".

  Host consistently uses ladders fine. Non-host players unable to complete climb, fall off the top every time. This is not remotely a new new issue and in fact goes back to BW1. Ladders have yet to work properly for non-hosted characters in a single instance of the game I have experienced, to the point where I stopped deploying them in favor of ramps. This is less than ideal, of course, as predators can climb ramps :(
  
  I suspect it has something to do with the mesh generation/alignment variance between the host and the hosted. I have noticed there are many times where we don't seem to be on the same TIN and have had hosted players frequently report erratic visual behaviour on my character when I am standing still or crouching in game and not moving (extreme bouncing, etc.). This may also be related to misalignments elsewhere in the game, as in while climbing up the inside wall of a cave, or along a cliff face where you appear to float above or sink into the terrain.

  Ladders are atrocious. Getting off the ladder is a challenge in part due to the animation and in part for non-hosted players. The thing really should clip to the floor in a way that your character walks off the ladder onto the floor instead of the odd placement where you have to jump off.

  For anybody else having issues climbing ladders, if you spam jump when youre at the very top during the climb-over animation it should boost you forward rather than dropping you back down the front of the ladder.

  So from what we can tell, it seems to depend on the character model you chose. Some people can climb the ladders without issues, but others get dropped back to the ground when they get to the top. If they jump at the very top repeatedly, they can get up the ladder, but its painful. Please look at this so ladders can be relied upon when needed asap (i.e. bear is chasing you!).

  This is just when you are not hosting, whomever is hosting will have ladders work fine, but the p2p players may occasionally fall off at the top.

  Hello, first of all the game is amazing..
  
  Problems i got with ladders:
  -they don't attach to trapdoors and placing them freely is hard
  -if you reach the top it is buggy and change vision.. Also sometimes i can go up and sometimes i can't
  -if i build a higher tower with multible platforms (1 big ladder) it is hard to get off it sometimes you just fall on the ground.. And if you only have a open platform without walls you just jump over the platform or slide over it..

  When I try to walk up a ladder, no problem. When I try to get to the next floor it's always a hassle. The character usually falls back down and I have to crouch or jump or look left or right and hold W. I'd just like the animation to finish with me on top.

  I can not count how often I fell down and died by using these trash ladders. I've seen many ladders in games and this one here is one of the worst. You can not move to a platform, you just fall down and die.

  I agree with the posts here. I too have had issues with falling off ladders once the climbing animation ends. The work around I found that helps when this issue starts is right near the end of the climbing animation if I jump forward it will prevent me from falling back. It doesn't always work due to the timing but more often then not it does. I still feel that this is a bug and needs to be resolved soon. If you are being chased by an animal or trying to climb up tall heights you don't want to worry about falling off the ladder due to a glitch.
  Also I would love to see a "Ladder snap" as well. I also think once the ladder snaps to a surface, it would be great if you could adjust it vertically similar to how you can rotate other objects. That would allow you to set it to the height that is needed.

  Built a small tower ontop of my base and used 3 ladders to gain access to the roof but half way up the ladder i wanted to get off between floors but i couldn't and my char fell of the ladder luckily not to far and didn't take to much damage but had i been really high up would have gotten a lsg break or maybe even death. This needs to be looked at please.

  Also, when you “release” from the ladder between floors, being able to “fall” sideways or backwards instead of dropping straight down like a stone would be awesome.

  too often, I get my character's head over the top of the ladder and it just freezes. I have to jump off and try again; sometimes it takes three or four tries. This is especially problematic when trying to avoid one or more predators.

  Climbing stuck this high (see pic) almost half the time I'm climbing up (single ladder through trapdoor, ladder centered and against the opening). Happens on any ladder, whether or not it is through a trapdoor or free standing.
