[Suggestion] Shotgun/Rifle damage difference.
First off the Hunting rifle is absolutely amazing! Bullet pricing makes it useable but not spam-able so it feels really good. Shotguns are also good, but even up close headshots that hit with multiple bullets are massively underwhelming. The shotgun as I see it, is a nice tool to have when you get surprise attacked, and need to do lots of damage, real close, right now, but it just doesn't deliver. Each bullet should hit in the range of like 600 damage, instead of 120ish on crits I've seen, then it would feel like it serves it's purpose better. Hunting rifles totally on point for taking out big targets before you are seen though, was super pleased with it!

LothmorgA shotgun irl will separate flesh from bone instantly. It’s not pretty. It’s a devastating weapon and should be reflected as such here.
A tweaked range mechanic would work wonders here. Full damage point blank and reduced damage over range. -

BlackLotusShotgun needs to have more stopping power in general, yes. Making the damage realistic might make it too powerful though (I mean, any organic thing is absolutely destroyed from a close-range shot IRL).
So I suggest on top of upping the damage a bit, it also pack a knockback effect, which would break even a bear charge from close range, for example.
Both the damage and the knockback effect should be highly susceptible to falloff though as the range grows longer.
