[Suggestion] Tech point distribution is flawed
There are so many areas that I've seen this game improve upon for the survival genre but, still uses a really bland progression to what I will eventually put points into.
Basically the advantage is just horde all points until end tier. Thatch wall costs the same as cement wall so, why waste points in thatch? And skip any aesthetics like chairs or tables because I might need points to build the end tier armor.
Some other titles offer a skill reset which just a cheese. Why can't points be uncapped? Just earn them continuously through progression of missions and earning XP while you play.
Thatch could cost 1 point, Wood 3 points, Stone 5, etc. The table or chair 1 points and the hunting rifle like 10 points.
Now we're invested in actually using thatch while we progress and not sacrificing something else because we want to explore creativity with the aesthetic building pieces. There's also more progression to earning end tier items instead of hording points to the level cap.

AlHaving skipped thatch to put a few points into wood and then spend much of my time trying to keep my shelter from being destroyed by storms, I'm even more inclined to hoard points to stone. This approach seems counter-intuitive, and makes the first 10-15 levels feel very pointless: I'm just grinding to where the good unlocks are.
