[Suggestion] Outposts and creative mode ideas and options for the masses
I know things are still up in the air with the game plan for outposts, but this is a suggestion I think will make most people happy. If it's added I would easily spend 100 hours on it, but still mostly play the real game, here goes =).
Outposts:
Make Outpost drops have access to the whole map, but with unlimited time, and a couple options, but any exotics you collect, can never leave with you in Outpost mode.
Option 1: Treat it like the real game, but with unlimited time, to craft/build/be in that world forever, like a standard survival game.
Option 2: Allow bad weather to be turned on and off, as well as predators.
Creative mode:
Like Outpost mode, but with the ability to run a god mode, fly, and unlimited building supplies, just let people build and be super creative.
If these modes stress the server, maybe see if there's a way for these modes to work offline and store information offline?
These are just some ideas to widen the audience for an awesome product.

One Character is bound to the Outpost Maps and can only play there (nothing can be transfared to the other Characteres no xp, no Talent points, no Blueprint points...)
This Character has also to level up to get talent and Blueprint points.
Predetors should be there for some action. Maybe a switch in the settings pedetor off/on.
Weather should be on or with a switch in the settings like Spring ,Summer, Autumn, Winter and cycle through all the seasons.
Enough metall ores so that i can build my Castle

ChrisSo I know about the specific map created, but since we know storms and predators can easily be turned on and off, don't see how having the option for offline, or multiplayer endless mode would hurt or be hard to do, also happy Dean asked about predators. There's more appeal to the main game, I plan on logging 100's of hours on it, but for me I'd also have fun doing the endless timer play. My girl likes to duo these games with me, but can only play like 4 hours a week sometime. So jumping on our "endless time drop" once a week to slowly advanced/build/explore together would be extremely fun for us, and probably some other people too. If the drop pods disappear on landing, and there's no way to extract exotics, and it uses another character for Outposts, it doesn't really do ANY damage to the actual game, so it seems like a harmless addon, that many people would enjoy for their own reasons.

BonnieMany of the games I play (and enjoy the most) offer an ability to play "offline" and don't require me to be connected to the Internet. When our Internet goes out, (which happens quite often in our area), Steam offers me the ability to play in offline mode so I see no reason why Icarus wouldn't allow that too.
I would love to "design a base" for testing purposes to know if it's a viable option to build in live mode. If you take away the animals or storms inside the Output, there's no way I can TEST a base design for use in the game. -

PopsInSpace MergedWill resources like iron ore, stone, and trees replenish so we can keep adding to our build? I love the suggestion on switching on or off predators changing seasons. The outpost could also be a practice area for hunting and maybe we could test some of our talent points in the outpost for combat and construction talents.

I'd still keep the non-predator modes but at least give the option to enable or disable them or something similar? -

Nick Mergedplease either add or make it an option for the game to add predators and storms to outposts! i was so disappointed to find out the outposts are basically a creative mode where the game is completely safe. i think that is great, but i think it would make it so much better if it was basically the full game, just minus missions and a time limit.
i love the missions they are cool, but i also (as a single player person) want to be able to fully explore and utilize everything in the game without having to reset. i'm so glad you guys made the outpost option because it adds a whole different experience to the game, but for me, i probably wont play the outposts at all with no predators or storms, there's no danger. and as someone who bought the supporters edition that really kind sucks.
also when first starting off, especially with a brand new character, its SO much more difficult to get fur in the first day before it gets dark. -

Eschatos MergedI was looking forward to a sandbox mode but very disappointed that it has no predators and is only a tiny map. I'm really hoping we can get options for sandbox so we can build permanent outposts on bigger maps with similar gameplay, predators and weather like the base game.
Maybe just don't spawn so many of them, or right on top of the character. Option for settings like this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! -

Duckett MergedIs it possible sometime in the future to have some of the same plants and such as the missions. I plan on using my outposts to not only build but to try out some of the armor, recipes, etc so that I can better plan my missions on which to build first and how to go about it.
Maybe add more animals to outposts such as the buffalo and boars. It would allow us more ways to get food and hides/Fur etc to plan out how we will do our missions. What is useful and what is not.
Just a thought..
BTW.. I love how much feedback you are providing for the community and the game is really great! I had a hard time waiting for the beta weekends so I am glad that game is released and I can play when I want :-) Keep up the great work! -

EASTRUINSI would love this option the main game is cool but i feel like it's missing that essence of homesteading, a place to create and admire your achievements in a physical element. Much like the game states these outposts or chunks of land given to us by the company or entity making these prospecting claims.
Giving full access also allows better access to more resources instead of adding them to the current outposts and maps.
Also allowing players creatively to flourish and build in these cool locations they come across during the game. -

DOMO MergedI love the idea of Outposts but what would be awesome, if possible - unlock the entire Tech Tree to free build on a creative Outpost. I think the idea is awesome for people like me who do like to free build when not running missions. I would say if this were to happen - take away any kind of leveling to your character, unlock the tech tree to free build & collect resources like you would if you were to grind out prospects.
I think this would eliminate any kind of level farming in Outposts but focus more on the creative side. This wouldn't affect your character, your tech tree and talent tree unlocks in regular prospects. It will just be open for building purposes only. This would allow a lot more cushion for trying out build pieces and interior set ups. Less grindy and more freedom to be creative. Leaves the grindy portion in the prospect mode which we already enjoy already :] -

Ricco MergedMy suggestion is to add a survival gamemode where you have the whole map just like the normal gamemode but without a timer and missions. Just to do survival with friends. This of course on a separate character than the one you use for the main game.
This would not alter the focus of the game since this would just be an additional gamemode for the people who like it. It also opens the game up for a wider audience. I know there is already the outpost "gamemode". But it does not have the weather events, no predators and it doesn't have the whole map.
Conclusion:
Add a survival gamemode where you don't have a time limit, but you still have all the features like weather events, dangerous animals and alien like creatures etc. make it so that the survival gamemode has to be played with a separate character than the one you play the main game with. -

I definitely think you should keep the peaceful mode in, but add options to add weather and hostiles to your outposts if you'd like. I think as you can see from all these merges there is a lot of support for implementation of that! -

Chris MergedOutposts are okay, but they're confined to tiny maps, with no aggressive creatures. The thrill just isn't there.
I'm currently playing on the 29day exploration mission, but everything feels so pointless because i know it will be wiped in a month... I would love just a straight up, classic survival option to go nuts and build towns and cities, adding to them with each DLC drop and future content update.

Brandon MergedI have found my self looking for animals to hunt more than anything else, they are far and few between and it took me more than a day and a half to build a bed just because I couldnt find animals to hunt and besides that fur is hella rare.

Fluffy MergedI agree there should be more animals, fur is not a huge deal though if you make the skinning bench since it gives you a bunch of fur from most animals. I think you should also have an option when starting an outpost to have predators or not.

Doshidoodles MergedI think it would be best if the outpost never wiped even when you leave it. Make it so ZERO xp is gained. It would help many that don’t have time to level a character then go to outpost to build something. It would also help be able to take your time building and giving it that long term satisfaction feel and be able to play missions/prospects with friends an use your leveled character in those missions and not lose what’s in the outpost.

InsaneguruIndeed, this is a huge part of the game for all players who like to take a break from the drop in and fly out mechanic where you lose everything. (which is all about removing persistence from the game/map) We need a place that has persistence unless we choose to wipe and start over, save the world locally and allow friends to hang out and see the work you put in. maybe your testing out speed builds or maybe you're building the great pyramid for a youtube channel. making the choice to lose everything cause your buddy comes on and wants to drop into a new prospect is such a poor way to implement this part of the game.
