  i believe there s a thing called straw of life that you can drink dirty water through the straw that filters the pollutants out using charcoal etc. but you would need the right rss to make it

  Even if you could make water save by boiling it in campfire with canteen or bladder.
  Currently you can't even fill those from lake without also drinking.
  Only way to do it is savely is rain collector or smelting ice, which both might not be feasable/available depend on location.
