[Suggestion] Add Vehicles
Cargo: (upgraded carts take less damage, upgraded engines can be more fuel-efficient and faster (Variable speeds))
- Wooden Sled (Only carry 1 type of item, Large wooden chest of cargo space, stamina powered, slow, tier 1)
- Wooden Cart (1 Large wooden chests of cargo space, slow, tier 1)
- Advanced Wooden Cart (2 Large wooden chest of cargo space, fast, tier 1)
- Motorized Cart (1 Large wooden chest of cargo space, tier 2)
- Advanced Motorized Cart (2 Large wooden chests of cargo space, tier 3)
- Truck (4 Large wooden chests of cargo space, Slow, tier 4)
Transportation:
- A cycle of some sort (Tools storage only, stamina powered, slow, tier 1)
- Advanced Cycle (Tools storage only, less stamina, fast, tier 2)
- Motorcycle (Small storage with a weight limit, tier 3)
- Advanced Motorcycle (Medium Storage with a weight limit, tier4)
- Buggy (Large Storage Higher weight limit, Tier 4, Fastest)

But upon having to trek to the mammoth(twice) I think some sort of craftable vehicle would be very much appreciated, even just confirmation there will be one in full release. But some way to trek long distances without running the whole way would be amazing, maybe even just horses for early game and some sort of craftable vehicle later on. I feel with a 64km square map it's almost necessary.

mUkKaI think this game mostly realistic, if they want to stay on this track, there must be "something" for transportation. If i can make the Tier 4 staff like armor, c.bow, Electric devices. Why i cant make a roller, bicycle, cart or something to make transportation/movement better? (Tip: floating carrier from death stranding.)
There must be an option for early, mid and late game, i think. (Sorry for my english ) -

AlterEgo1987 Mergedi've seen the trailer from a year ago. there are ZERO mutated animals aside from the worms in this game, like there were in the trailer. there is also no vehicles either, not even to unlock, like the trailer showed. i do not like the idea of having to start over each mission, with re-building EVERYTHING. i think that the planet should remain continuous. if you build a structure or crafting bench in the 1st mission, it should still be there in the 35th mission. the storms are annoying. they do nothing but force you to stop playing the game and hide in a cave or structure until it passes. GET RID OF IT, or get rid of the penalty for being out in it.
in the trailer, the narrator mentioned that the spacesuit can filter out contaminants, so why am i getting dysentery from drinking water? why is it that i can swim underwater almost indefinitely (with enough Oxite), but i get hypothermia/pneumonia in a cave? it would make more sense for those symptoms to exist if there wasnt a spacesuit. -

JuanpercentIt does feel incredibly stupid that an advanced space exploring civilization that goes around planets to do exploring in space suits would not have a single vehicle available to them. Not only did it seem to me in the trailer that there was some sort of vehicle it just straight up doesn't make sense to not have anything given the setting, in fact at this point the whole narative around the missions and such seems very forced/unbelievable given the very primitive tech that is available having to start from a wooden shack every single mission.
I understand there are balancing aspects to take into account but at least make some animal tamable/ridable and attach a primitive cart or such to it to haul stuff around the map would already be an incredible QoL improvement. Then the animal could still be affected by storms/weather conditions and overheating etc. and vulnerable to attacks but just make it slightly more realistic.... -

SubWe really need some sort of transportation when you get to a point where you can go everywhere on the map, that would be very helpful and fun to use, i don't care if they are slow or hard to get, if they require lots of essences and also add some small but faster one like a 4 wheeler or a motor bike

Seliane MergedI play alone and is really tedious (lvl 35, 55h) i like the gameplay, but more of the missions you can do it with basic items and rushing. They need to do somenthing with the construction system, because many times you waste more time collecting and building than simply crafting what is necessary. It's boring and repetitive, but the game doesn't reward you for spending hours on it.
Another problem is the maps, clearly with optimization problems that tarnish the game. But polo is a boring and totally wasted map, I understand that right now the bears are your gate keepers and you don't want to nerf them, but they are a bad joke. And the desert is another boring map but simply full of animals, I don
I understand that the concept of the game is different and I repeat, I like it, but something is clearly wrong. Love the game, but unfortunately whenever I finish playing I have the feeling of having been wasting my time with this game (as much as it entertains me) -

- add a free creativve Mode with unlimited resources and change the Outpost Mode to a permanent Base mode with all the dangers of ICARUS (weather, wildlife, alien creatures), the new reason for the improved outpost mode is to make it rewarding to build a permanent base and let us grind exotic materials for the orbital workshop EXKLUSIVE in this Mode! WIth Drills and all that Stuff.
On the other Hand, Missions be the Reason for get Upgrade Points (yellow ones).
Sorry for the Bad English, but im 100% shure all this make ICARUS a better Game in Future. Especially a permanent base with a Reason to build it (exotics Material only in this Mode, good preparation neccessary to get it) is something most of the Players Want as Endgame.

Elephants , Zebra , and probably some others could make it.
Animals could be such a great use in the game , Porc to make bio fuel , fishes with a real fishing rod , mounts could be used as well with carts , defense , and so on , so much to make with those animals . -

Grimr MergedWhen you first start playing Icarus, its okey to travel by foot. The general tasks are fast and easy to reatch. But at later missions, the distanses expand fast to 20-30 min walks just to reatch the task. And just walking around isent overly fun.
So my suggestion is some sort of ATV or Motorcross bike you can print in orbit for a few resourses after a few drops. These vehicles could be fuled by biofule while on planet, as to not make them to overpowered. -

I think something like an electric atv/motorbike/rover/ would be quite useful and seeing as tier 4 item/benches are already electric (with some more electric benches planned for future like the electric armor bench, electric stove etc) perhaps a new bench could be made for said electric vehicles also something to carry wood/stone/ores and stuff around in to would be very useful

KruzI'd recommend that even if there's no drivable vehicles, at least an automated minecart or something to haul off each of the caves. If you are playing solo, it takes a very long time to mine out a cave, run it back to the base and go back to a cave right next to the one you just mined out. Having some kind of a drone or something that would carry the items back for you would be great.

Once you land on icarus you can have the ability to craft a bow or maybe even a spear thrower that you can attach onto the vehicle. Allow 2 or 3 people to ride in it as well. Have the vehicle be able to store 5 items or so. The player would be able to haul wood, ore, carcasses back to the shelter along with what ever is on the character.

CourtPlease please please add some kind of vehicle or mode of transportation. Literally every prospect we have done has so much traveling and it takes away the fun from the game. I would understand if some of the exploration ones require lots of traveling, but it isn't necessary for every prospect. Having some way to travel faster would make this game a lot more fun to play!

Eldiin MergedThey actually already have vehicles planned and they might possibly add them in the next few DLCs. They originally were going to have them at launch, but there were issues with the physics, so they opted to remove the vehicles.
But just to point out what is already been said: At this stage, on the current map we have, vehicles would not be a good fit for the forest or riverland biomes. They would only be useful in the desert or artic boimes, as there isn't many things there that the vehicle can get caught up in. -

Kel'narnThe Advanced Motorcycle could be something more like a German Kettenkrad, with rear track units and a single steering wheel. It'd be better on stuff like snow, as it behaves something like a snowmobile in those conditions, with its weight distributed mostly on the tracks.

max kozhevnikov MergedI saw in the ikarus trailer that they moved around the biome in a vehicle (car), and I would like to know if something similar will be added to the game for more experienced players, for example, for those who have completed 90% of the research would be available in the workshop transport for fast movement on any biome for a large amount of exomatter, it is clear that this is difficult to implement, but for those who have been playing for a long time it is not very pleasant to get 30-40 minutes of their time to the other end of the map, another 1 option for you is creation of a separate tree of talents for movement due to the distance traveled in the game itself.

IntreegAluminum could be fashioned into a rough 1 speed bicycle at a machining bench. The steel chain would wear out and need replacement over the distance and the frame would need a whack from the repair hammer when the bike ran into a tree or was bulldozed by a bear but it would lessen the pain of long treks. The military uses them with rucksacks.

I do have a few ideas of what I would like to see in Icarus like a 4-wheeler of some sort and a motorcycle would be cool with some storage space, but I know that your on a schedule and have to work very hard to make the weekly updates possible. once again Im very happy of what you've done with the game and cant wait to see what comes next. -a faithful player -

Josh MergedI have an idea for this futuristic/survival/adventure/kickass game. Would it be possible to introduce a small tracked ATV (nothing bigger) with backpack size storage to the tier 4 area of tech. As the map can be large, this mining heavy, it could introduce a different tactic to the game.

This could lead into the addition of a cart and having to make a bridge across rivers. We already of rope for the harness/leads/lassos.

spencern MergedI think adding some type of storage vehicle (Possibly like a Flinstones-Type Car or even a Wheelbarrow) would add some quality and comfort of use when it comes to mining or collecting multiple animal corpses to return to the skinning table. Similar to that of the Log Sled from The Forest. Technically, this could develop further into bio-fueled vehicles given that biofuel is already an aspect in Icarus (and even further with electricity?).
I understand getting too advanced with vehicles could potentially take away from the feeling of Icarus, which is why even a low-grade wheelbarrow or cart would suffice. -

Dusty 774 MergedReally tired of running so far for ores and other mission stuff have to make several trips most of the tine due ti small back pack and weight limit mabey a cart or something at least and mabey upgradeable backpack with more slots would be nice and mabey a motorcycle or some sort of vehicles would be nice or some sort of gyrocopter or even balloons mabey a sled for the snow and also i think some of the stations shouñd be more compatible being able to craft more things at the same workstations especually like the cooking thers too many cooking stations and yoy can onoy cook certain things at each inivodual station you have to grind lkke 15 hours to get end game foods not fun on missions that wipe

Gliders would you make you cover more ground faster while parachutes would just go straight down.

CliffTransport should be nothing more than carts and mounts. No motorized vehicles that take away from the survival part of the game. The majority of the community bought a SURVIVAL game nothing more. We deserve to have some preservation of the game we all love and bought.

Adding vehicles would be amazing, The game can be very sweaty sometimes and just adding 1 vehicle would most likely bring in more players. Bugs would also most likely occur but maybe only implicating it in outpost as exclusive limited time test event..... ELTTE just ideas. You could also just have it on servers only to diagnose bugs on the spot. Just ideas............ but add vehicles fr.

FrankWhen I picture an Icarus motor bike, I picture a minimalist, survival motor bike (see attached).
- durability of the bike SLOWLY degrades with usage, perhaps at the same rate the generator uses biofuel. Uses Composites to "repair/maintain".
- fuel is depleted during operation. could tie it to the same rate as the biofuel lantern.
- Obviously runs on biofuel.
- Able to hold 2 biofuel cans/other items that appear when loaded. Kind of like when you put materials on to a bench it appears on the bench. (also see attached)
- Storage would match with 1 small metal storage box
- perhaps starting it has the sound radius of a rifle shot, alerting predators and scaring non-predators. Wanna sneak? drive it, park it, hoof it.
trying to suggest things with options of currently existing features to make the thought of it easier on the devs. Glad to see them still improving. :) -

Markdon MergedHello.. i just wanna say my disappointment... years ago i suggest dev to make Vehicle but no respond n then they choose mount, i try it n seem not functioning at all because: 1. my character can run fast than that animal. 2. my character can loot more. 3. Animal stamina is so so sooo low. 4. Cannot attack while mount. so what the meaning u create that something can't boost speed n loot better than character. If you make a vehicle we can fill it with fuel only.. no matter how much fuel we can make it..right now i can see mount is like for scenery only sorry to say but that the fact.

Rem HoekI'd like to add my vote to include vehicles as well. I'm well aware that animal mounts are now part of the game, but to be honest, the method of acquiring mounts doesn't appeal to me. I get that it's a game, but slaughtering a family of animals then painstakingly inflicting "Stockholm syndrome" on the orphaned juvenile just doesn't click with me as a gamer. I mean, if raping a female character in a survival game to accomplish some in-game goal was a mechanic, or kicking homeless children off a building somehow gave me a sweet in-game buff, I wouldn't engage in any of those activities, either. I know, I know, I can already hear the MAGA-Gamers and the incel community deriding me about it "only being a game" and rabidly labelling me in any number of ignorant and cruel-spirited ways. but *shrug* it's only my two cents. If there were a way to craft even a small biofuel-powered transport or mechanized travel boost I'd happily grind a Tier 3 Item, since Tier 4 is a complete waste of time.

Daniel MergedSomething I would like to see added to Icarus is more transport options. The things I would like to see added to Icarus are rowboats, horses, a medium exploration vehicle that has exterior and interior storage with a built-in oven and biofuel composter, carts, a robotic mount with built in storage that eats grass and produces biofuel, trains, and a way to make dirt and gravel roads. Ahmed tarek MergedOne of the most annoying thing in icarus is the long long running sessions, mountables didn't fix it for me at all , maybe adding a rover or a minicopter will make things better .

Notsure MergedVehicles? Some skills become worthless... In real life to get vehicle cheap because conveyor production. There must be posibility to buy a high tech to reshape all rules in wilderness. Let us "play" in space not only on ground missions. Let us build space ships in space. Ground missions is to get materials to space :)
exotiocs is currency in space stations. Motivation behind currency game "reseach and buy" in space station is weak. Its My point - Motivation is WEAK in space station. BUY things in space station to make easier missions on ground and agian to buy items is like circle, but someting missing... People what we missing?
maby we missing power from another world to impact this worlds survival rules???? it is like evolution through both words. when we go toanother world we impacting that world with something like materials, tehnology. Bryce JensenVehicles would be awesome, but is almost too far. Walking long distances is somewhat tedious but it forces us to take in the scenery and animal life on the planet. Just some Cross Country skis, a canoe, and maybe something like a paraglider would feel excellent in Icarus. A paraglider or some other way down a cliff quickly would even be pushing it on the immersion though. Rappelling? I feel like anything motorized is a bit too far, but I suppose I won't have to build it if it ever gets added.
I'm only 75 hours in so far and have really fallen in love with the game. I'm happy with or without vehicles, and can't wait for the scenery to go by with a little less stuttering. -

David Jamesi don't know i think once Vehicles get added the hard survival feal goes out the window it will be too easy just to travel at least with animals you have to look after them feed them protect them and no matter what you get sloppy and they die and the cycle repeats a bike would just be put in a biofuel can and go not as fun

Rat152A craft able cheap dirt bike not far outside what the tier 4 player is already doing. Having a mission or vehicle spawn on the map at first (you tease) then allow it to be used in other missions, Costly airdrop for a vehicle and yeah let it get hung up and damaged on everything.
Already unseen drones that apparently crash all the time. I say have an event/mission the player may even miss of a vehicle being carried by a large drone, to go rescue it and find they cannot. As an imitation dynamic mission, player can be told yeah let's get that vehicle, but it may need fixed. but upon arrival well nope that's not getting fixed. -

Barry LopesAgreed, having some form of personal transportation (in addition to the taming update which recently came out) to traverse across the map faster (but with less or no carrying capacity) with less stamina consumption and being able to carry heavy loads (but at slower speeds) around the map. The above suggested vehicles sound relevant to current conditions.

Tier 3 solar, but would only run during daylight hours.
Tier 4 hybrid solar and biofuel so longer range
truck version less passenger space but more cargo possibly with a modular bed so you could have a module like the saddle for mounts. module ideas cargo, freezer, and tech so you could do small workbench things out in the field. -
