[Suggestion] Female characters are a bit ugly
Female characters are more ugly than male characters.
The background graphics are good, but the characters are completely zero.
I think the character needs to be improved.
I wish the female characters were pretty.

porcupineflairI would've suggested adding more and better detailed facial features, like making them appear more realistic. Particularly adding more skin tones and complexions, but I'm not seeing the importance of making any characters prettier, really.

Zinna MergedShe is so ugly, it's almost an anti-sexist sexist hate crime. Where the crime is simply an ugly unidentified gender. Give us a man and a woman, and the ability to make them "un-gendered" if you need to be politically correct. When I clicked feminine, I thought I was creating a character for Planet of the apes.

Icarus4allPeople who have trouble with gender identity often complain if there is even an option for male or female roles in a game. But seriously give us the options 1st of an actual female, then the option to give her a beard and bad skin if we want. This blackhead ridden long armed ape-man you guys call feminine might make "early man" (aka prehistoric cave-men ) "a rise", but there is nothing feminine about the feminine character options.

Seems a really big difference between the real world and the game, are there going to be skimpy space suits next? If not why does it matter? You wear the helmet all the time. -

HOWEVER, Devs, please note 2 things;
Firstly, all female characters ears are too big for their caps, and stick/clip out through the cap, unlike the mens ears.
Secondly, a BUG, if you customise a female character after creation, it resets her head back to head #1 and you can't change it back. -

FelinaLook at pictures of women working in difficult "male" professions. You will find beautiful women miners, mechanics, engineers and many other professions where hard physical work is involved. But women always strive to be beautiful, even if they have a hard job. And a beautiful woman may want to be an astronaut, or a space prospector, a scout. It doesn't matter that my character is always in a spacesuit, I want my woman to be a woman and not a female caveman with a pickaxe in her hand.

DarquanIt is funny how a few years back people tried to turn down on beauty of fantasy world characters to make them a bit more "realistic" as to not set up "unachievable standards" and now we ask game industry to turn up on beauty of fantasy world character for roughly same cause - to make them a bit more realistic.

I'm a girl. I love playing female characters. I cannot help but believe that adding female characters was a last minute addition and some genius thought they could just tweak the male faces and enlarge the chest area and called it good. I can even put facial hair on my girl and I guess that part is okay but they are all so mannish. And how about racial diversity? That would be great also. :) -

Kim1st, I love this game, and the incredible work the dev's are putting into it. I'll always support it. 2cnd, If this topic isn't important to you, then your in the wrong thread. 3rd, Fact: Most players enjoy identifying with their characters. 4th, gaming cosmetics is a $billion a year industry. 5th, This topic has never properly been addressed by the dev's that I know of.
The dev's made the game quite pretty, so why make the first thing we see so un-appealing and gross? We're Not asking for sexualized characters! There's a few face options already. But they're all as ugly as the next. Blackhead infested gross faces. It can't be hard to edit a couple of the existing faces.
OR, maybe get rid of faces altogether like Astroneer, and have permanent helmets, but with cosmetic options. No more gender/ugly complaints. Fun helmet skins & or designs and colors for our suits maybe,(Monetize it even) Multiplayer games benefit from diversity among the friends/family we play with. -

TendisMahlLol! This thread is hilarious and I 100% agree - all the face models are fugly!
The faces don’t have to move, and you always wear a helmet, so just make the faces a static “application” to the helmet visor. Make it a 100 x 100 .png that you can customize and we’ll slap Angelina Jolie’s or Brad Pitt’s faces in our helmets. Sure, you’ll get the occasional middle finger or butt-faced prospector, but make a “show custom faces” toggle and have a generic male and female face placeholder for the more sensitive players. Forget the modeled faces unless you’re going for nose and chin slider customization in the future. -

NebthtetI talked to my buddy and we both laughed at our character's fugly mugs - regardless of gender or head used it's a disaster. Male faces have nose pores huge like the craters on the surface of our moon :)

zI wouldn't mind as much that the characters are ugly if we could at least not see them every time we launch the game... Or give us cosmestics to cover their faces.
It's never great to boot up the game only to see the face of my character, vacantly staring. -

ThaylandI guess the story line could go, "This is what happens when you keep making copies of clone after clone." Think about it. If you die on the planet, you are actually eaten. What is coming down in that rez pod? I am %1000 sure that if time and energy were put into making the characters look like Tom Cruise and Scarlett Johansson, it would be a very positive thing. But as long as they can keep everybody suited up on the planet and a minimal percentage is complaining about it, I just don't think things will change. With the graphics work these artists are capable of, I think they could do an incredible job but for now, the male and female facial features are an embarrassment. I certainly understand all the bugs that need to be fixed but instead of a seed bag, (which was needed), or a new backpack, why not polish the faces of the game?

KimberlyFigure out what Conan is using to make their characters and use it. There is no reason for a woman or a man to be so ugly and nongendered. As an artist I really feel that the character does not represent what I want my gaming character to look like at all. We like options. Lots of options. Hair options. More clothing options and lots of other material options. Willing to pay for more. Please expand on skins, morphs, clothing, materials...thank you thank you thank you!

WendigoI will say. Having them all (Males and Females) look like people who've spent too much time in hell, is a little strange. Though I admit, realistically.. Someone who's a rock-hopper isn't gonna be looking spiffy even at 25 unless they got good genetics.

I would suggest allow us to fine tune. I personally like the grizzed and grimey looks. Some look, really weird though... But more variants and allowances would be good. + Char Look Sav Presets.

I highly suggest don't go the Conan Exiles route someone mentioned above.. We don't need... That... Just have them look more human and more varied from Fresh 21 year old rookie, up to grizzled 60 year old professional. And with Fine Tuning we can do everything in between.

KirstieI understand simple character customisation at the start, most of us can't see our bodies underneath the space suits/armour, but the faces and choices there are kinda lacking. I can't seem to save the character face I choose either, keeps reverting back to the first/basic one. WIsh we had more faces and suits to choose from, as so many other items are inthe game now, maybe we could have more options for suits too :) OR! Maybe dyes? We could dye our clothes instead? Something to make us more unique :)
