It's OK - when you kill that creature, it tells you that it actually was a Racoon. On Icarus, racoons appear to look like (and call themselves) rabbits... :)

My group started to wear racoons on their belt for good luck. We even called ourselves "The lucky racoon society".

We are distraught at this change...

It is a waste not to include such beautifully rendered animals, by using both animals (rabbits -> Daylight, Racoons ->night) you'd give the world a great deal of bio-diversity. Something that IMHO could do nothing but make it more immersive.

I didn't even know there were raccoons until just now and I am so deeply disappointed they aren't in the game right now.

Should have both.

As an added feature, Raccoons would open the door of your shelter (low tier) and try to find and start eating your food. Then leave trash everywhere and attempt to escape once discovered, making even more of a mess in the process.
