[Suggestion] A more useful compass
As of right now I can find no real purpose to use the compass at the top of the HUD. Other player's pings show up here, but that's it, I think?
Many survival games prior to Icarus have set a standard of several things at once showing on the compass, along with distance from that object to the player below it.
My first thought is 7d2d, and how the icons on the compass grow bigger as you approach your ping(s), but more recently New World has done similar with their compass.
The compass to me right now is the biggest tease because games like the aforementioned utilize it in really useful ways that players rely on, and so far for me personally, with Icarus it feels like nearly an afterthought.

DonnyDonVitoI one million % love the fact that you mentioned 7 Days to Die compass system.
Very comprehensive.
Give an option to see / add allies and landmarks that we mark on the minimap...Trying to smelt 300 iron and 100 steel...can't keep track of all these caves! -

HKNThe compass offers an opportunity to mix in some craftable/optional modules. Start off with a basic compass, analogous to a simple magnetic compass, and then let upgrades add features like a simple heading marker, then map marker indicators (combined with being able to set multiple markers on the map). Essentially offer a progression from handheld magnetic compass to GPS. This would be a useful set of craftable items across several tiers.

Lianailheading marker now aligns to the single map marker you can add. I agree with this suggestion. At some point your compass should automatically update with the mission markers already on the map.

LexionIt woudl aslo be nice to have a Base or Bed icon to help gettign back to where you setup, at present i only use the compas in multiplayer to get to what ever has been marked for me, i use the compass much more in other games (7D2D) as its useful this seems to have been added but not a lot of use for it right now
