For example - please check your local hardware store to see how many nails are in a 1 lb box. Or Screws in a similar 1 lb box. You might be surprised to see it IS NOT 10. I just feel smelting 50kg of iron into ingots should return more nails.
Please do a little backchecking and determine the appropriate quantities.
Additionally maybe lighten up a little on the food and water situation, people do not need to eat an entire deer a day, and do not die in 1 day of starvation, or thirst for that matter. I would actually lighten this up a LOT, and remove the perks related to food and water consumption.
