[Suggestion] Death penalty is too much when playing solo

  Seems like half the player base is split on XP penalty being too severe, or loving it. As an option it would be fantastic to implement the ability to turn off the XP penalty for death when playing solo - personally it does negatively impact the game, turns it into more of a grind and hesitation.

  While I do think the xp penalty is too much if you are close to leveling that isn't what this suggestion is about.
  
  When you die solo this is what happens.
  
  You have to wait 15 seconds to click the respawn button, for no reason.
  The game warns you that if you aren't revived by an ally you will have the death penalty.
  
  Then you get this big red bar over your xp bar until you fill it back up.
  
  It's just way too in your face about dying. I get it I died for the 5th time from a bear but I don't want the game to rub it in my face.
  
  Suggestions:
  No wait time for solo players to hit respawn.
  Fewer buttons to click to respawn.
  
  Change the xp penalty to a flat percentage that is just taken away from our xp. The constant reminder that I have to re-earn xp I lost isn't a good motivator.

  1. When solo the respawn is an issue, it is actively punishing solo player where as a group can revive with no penalty.
  2. Bears are op for lower gear. Random appearance of them makes 1 come into play more often.
  3. The xp penalty is weird, I mean I get having consequences but if I die just after getting a level it seems less punishing since it resets you for your current level.

  I agree. I died at level 21 with most of the exp to 22 ground out. The game is basically saying I've lost a day of play getting there and now dying repeatedly as i try to reclaim the lost exp.

  I enjoy playing a game like this solo and also with friends, plan on having separate characters for it. The Xp penalty is gruesome for a solo player especially if the the death comes from bugged bears on a drop

  Playing solo I spent the better part of a full day grinding because i died. it wasn't fun, it didn't endear me to the game it made me want to stop playing. It seems a little too un-fair/unfun atm.

  I totally agree. I think its not a bad thing to have a penalty to death, especially in coop, but if you play alone it can be EXTREMELY frustrating to die over and over 5% away from the next lvl. This might not be an issue on lower lvls, but on higher lvls I start to get the need for a ragequit.
  
  Sure, when I play alone and get downed, I could ask someone to join the game to revive me, right? Technically correct, but if you think about it that should not be nessecary.
  
  As of now, this is the most annoying thing in the game (in addition to the fact that 9/10 times its a bear that kills you.)
