[Bug] Lightning storms messing up FPS

Hey.
2 times now that Lightning storms has made my FPS go from 66 to 14.
I have to relog to make my FPS okey again after a lightning storm. It happends when lightning hits close to where I am.

I too have experienced this a couple of times. I think it also happens to impact things more when trees catch fire during said lightning storm.

I've had lightning storms where I was in a cave, and trees didn't catch fire, and there was no impact, but when the forest burns as well, it's pretty brutal.

This is also happening to me. Severe lightning storms that catch trees on fire just destroy the frame rate. I've checked my system and it's not overloading it. For reference, I have AMD Ryzen 9 5950X CPU, Nvidia RTX 3090, 64GB DDR4 ram, and an ASUS ROG motherboard.

Hello! I'm experiencing severe fps drops (to around 7-10fps) when storms happen, and even after those end the drop persist so I have to restart the game every time. Running the game dx12, high settings (no raytracing) 2k resolution on a RTX 3080, i7 8700, 16GB RAM, installed on an NVMe

Lightning tanks my fps during storm. Goes from 50-60 to 1fps for 1-3 seconds eacg strike.

Now that platform has moved to servers the lightning in the game totally stops the game and causes severe lag as well as forest fires and sometime the flames from the fire pits.
Player cannot move or do anything when lightning animations is taking place.
I have not tried adjusting game settings yet, but perhaps you have a work around in the settings that will help either eliminate or reduce the in-game lag and freezing going on. I have a i9 CPU w/ 32 GB memory and an AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT w/ 8GB and my game is totally freezing during lightning animations and severely lagging when forest fires are nearby. Never used to do this until those last few updates.

When lightning struck my FPS go down below 3 FPS for 2-3sec.
Also Youtube-videos stop playing for this time.
There should be a possibility to turn it off.
