[Bug] IF you leave the game with unspent talent points you lose them

I was playing for a while and got 3 Talent Points and I didn't know what I wanted to spend them on so I just completed the mission and left the prospect, but when I started a new prospect I had 0 Talent Points, what gives??

leveled up right before I went back up in the rocket and lost a talent point and 3 tech points, the showed available in the main menu but disappeared when i switched so check a different tech tree or talent tab

Just experienced the same issue... Had two levels worth of unspent talent and BP points when I completed a mission. Kept the levels, lost the points.

Same happened to me. I completed a mission with two levels gained and their respective points un-spent. When I got to the mission screen, I had kept the two levels but lost all of the unspent points.

Lost unused tech points
Hey, Devs
I got a bug for you: I Lost accrued and unused tech points that I earned and received yesterday. When rejoining my prospect I noticed that I was credited 1 talent point but I had already used that yesterday so that was not right. I just hadn't used my tech points but they are gone. Just as my prospect loaded in I saw a pop-up on the screen that said I had all the points but there is none in my balance. Good luck with this one Dev team. Love your work and I love the game.
I just logged out and in again and captured some screenshots as the issue was still there.
Also, I could only load one screenshot in this portal. not sure if that is also a bug. oops

Something similar happened to me lost 3 tech points not sure if I lost a talent point. Probably due to the way the server saved information and there being a patch that released the next day.

Hey Adam,
The same thing happened to my husband and I. He's missing 4 levels of points and I'm missing 3 levels of points. But it happened to us the day after the last patch not before the patch then carrying over. Do we know if they are looking into this?

I also lost a Tech Tree Point (down from 44 to 43) on my level 22 main (offline) as the game didn't save after allocating the tech point into Electronics. I lost the point but Electronics remains locked. After allocating the point to electronics, I walked around abit and did some hunting then quit to desktop. When Logged back later the next day, the point was gone but electronics was locked....

I'm really hesitant in spending any more time in this game at present as they could be indicative of another underlying issue as I don't want to end up in situation where like posters here where I lose my accured talent (16 points) and tech points (now 43).

This is why we seriously need the ability to respec... providing that's not bugged either.. 😅

I left a drop with points in my tech and talent tree. When I loaded into a new prospect the point from the talent tree disappeared and when I leveled up again to level 42 I didnt get a point for the talent tree

I'm level 38 and I saved up quite a few talent points. When I went to go spend them, I could only spend a few. Now I have 4 talent points remaining at level 38 but I can't spend them on any talents. See screenshot. I tried in a prospect and outside of a prospect, but no luck. Wondering if this is a bug from saving up too many talent points?

Before anyone asks, I am not trying to spend points on the Solo blueprint talents (I know they are garbage). I'm just using this as an example where I meet the minimum requirements and I have available talent points but can't spend them.

I just had my respec'd talent points deleted. So here's what happened:

1. Levelled up (to 40) during an Argos: Exploration mission, didn't spend the point and returned to station.
2. In station, used the last of my respec points (5) to remove a number of combat skills, decided not to spend them until my next drop. Talent tree showed 6 unspent talent points.
3. Dropped into Kill list: Hardcore Extermination.
4. Looked at talent tree, saw there were 0 unspent talent points, figured it could be a bug and returned to station again.
5. Looked into talent tree again, 0 unspent points and 0 respec points remaining.
6. Repeated dropping and returning a few more times, no change.

Looks like when I dropped, the game not only removed my talent point I earned from my previous level in-game, but also removed the points I got back from a respec. Can anything be done about that? Is this a know-issue that I stumbled into? It's pretty brutal losing that many points for no reason.

I have three characters, all over max level talentwise (50). After all characters had the same talents enabled they had each different amount of unused talent points. Something is eating (or duping) the talent points.

Maybe older characters have received dups or not received talent points? Or the max level increase compensations have screwed up the points? Or respec has eaten them? Or talent points just spontaneously combust? Something =)

I respec'ed out 18 points but when I checked the total amount of talent points I had to spend, I only had 9! WTF??!!

Where did half of my respec'ed talent points go?

All my toons are lvl50+. Beyond the screenshots nothing allocated in combat on any toon. Under construction every toon has 3 points in repairing/ready to work and 1 point in cooking/farming/food pyramid.

I have had the same issue where talent points have vanished.
I was spec'd into shotguns, i used some respec points to remove 8 points from the shotgun tree from "How many shots did you count" back to "Shotgun Sovereign" from the shotgun tree. I did not spend the points back into the tree as i was unsure what i wanted, I then joined my friends game and noticed the talent points are gone. I have the respec points back but the tech tree is also missing the spent points meaning ive lost 8 points.

Hey i had the same issue as well.
1. I had 2 points left over and than leveled up to 45 which gave 2 extra points. I had 4 total unused point and when i went to orbit the points were reset to 0.
2. Then when i reached max level 50 i gained 2 talent points and when i went to orbit the points were rest to 0 again.

So in total i lost 6 talent points, where i was trying to go for particular character build but now the build is incomplete. When it happened first thought it will fix itself but it happened again and i am aware you can no longer gain talent points after 50 at this present moment.

This has just happened to me and I'm playing in May. Why isn't this still addressed?
I lost three talent tree points. I'm a little bit tilted. Where did they go?
I make sure the game saves everytime before I leave.
I went to go play another game and when I come back on my 3 talent points are gone?
How ridiculous.

@Elissa all the toons being level 50 should have same amount of talent points. But they do not. Therefore talent points have been lost somewhere during the journey due to bugs. I have no problem retiring the toon with least talent points (at level 50) and train a new one, but you might want to check/debug the situation due to bug hunting reasons before I do that? ;)

im lvl 50 many times over ( i have 50 points spent visable) how many should i have ??

i have used the respec a few times ... tonight i took off 5 points and poof they are gone the respec points , aswell as the talents ... with no talent points made available to spend ...
so i went logged off and on , reset steam , etc , went to prospect , aswell as in space station , still no points , made sure on all three players in case i removed the 5 points from the wrong one and didnt realize .. checked all characters , no points and respec points missing ... so i have went to talent calculator rebuilt what i could see on my screen on my character to the talent calculator and it says i should have 10 more points ...

Hello, I reassigned a talent point to Icarus and I kept it to put it back later, but when I reconnected the talent point had disappeared, is that normal? I also received talent points that seemed to come out of nowhere some time before that.

Reached level 50 during the prospect and earned 3 talent points and 1 solo point. Did not spend any talent points during the whole mission.
When mission was complete, went back to dropship and launched.
While in launch, opened talent tree and added a point to solo talents.

When I returned to character select and opened my talents, the 3 regular talent points were lost.

There is a problem that I noticed with tech tree points as well like mentioned above. I had 6 points but once I logged off and back on all 6 points were gone. It is not saving the points so either they fix it and give back the points or don't leave the game unless you spend all your points. It is a bug because they use to be saved until you used them.

After respeccing my character lost 2 skill points.

I tried to respecc back and forth, now I cant do that because before I had 2 points more which became missing in the process. This happened already before, when 2 skill points where taken away and then at a random point of time added back.

Whenever I start the game and the starting sequence begins, the lag starts too, the sound interrupts several times, it becomes noise, the melody is aweful in addition, the game seems to almost crash while that sequence is forced onto you.

After respeccing guided arrow it remains to be guided and sometimes guides the arrow into a different animal than that which I am aimed at. I see other perks like double baby animal perk active too after speccing out of it: When I kill baby animal I get more stuff from it than from adult mate while I actually respecced the baby animal perk and just wanted to try and see what it does.

So I counted them.

Right now I have 63 talent points distributed (non solo) and before it were 65. I heared it should be only 60. Gimme back my 65 guys, cmon ^_^.

The skill points created and deleted in the process of reskilling maybe 60-80 points and trying out a lot of stuff. I don't know exactly when. I just saw 2 went missing during the last reskill process.
