[Suggestion] Adjust the cost of Iron needed for T3 items
T2 (Crafting Bench + Forge + Anvil): 80 iron ore
T3 (Machining Bench + Concrete Mixer + Concrete Furnace): 194 Iron Ore, 80 Silica
Altough the jump from T2 to T3 is 2.4x the resource cost, the steel tools are very expensive to make and give not that much more iron per node. We tend to stop "upgrading" after making iron tools because the steel and all the later ones don't feel worth the hussle at all.
The time and effort required to get steel tools or even a gun feels not worth in most of the missions (with the cheeses available for the bosses).

JappI actually always just go for the steel pickaxe first, since that can get u any ore u want.
And most of the time after visiting 2 (big) cave's u should have enough iron to build all the things needed to get that pickaxe.
Also the shotgun is not that hard to get either.
The only thing i feel is totally not worth in any of the missions is T4, the amount of resources needed for that is insane. -

RussellYes, I agree with Japser, but just to get to the steel you will need at least 300 iron, and to get that with rock pickaxes is sometimes 3 caves, if you get the iron pickaxe immediately after getting an anvil you can get it in 2 caves, but should it be so drawn out just to get the higher gear for something like a scan mission.
It makes more sence if they costed a split of copper and iron since they are the first two ore you can havest. -

RussellActually, I think the original thought of the team was yes, at the start it will be balls to get those higher tiers, but once you take the high level station pickaxes you can mine at the level of a steel pickaxe. So later in game once you have done a few missions you will find it easier.

StefanOver 2,5 years old and steel is now made earlier in the game.
With the open world the T4 stuff totally makes sense.
Maybe better write a new suggestion if needed.
