[Suggestion] Remove deadly animals for period of time after death
Ok, I have more time in survival games than I care to admit. The most frustrating thing I have EVER ENCOUNTERED is in Icarus.
Not my first time playing, not my first character.
SO I start a new character cause I can no longer progress my old one. (thats another issue for another post) I have been stuck in a loop of respawn, run to my body, get mauled, repeat. This has happened about 6 times in a row.
"Why not just start fresh?" Well I don't feel like throwing away the HOURS of time I spent accumulating said loot.
I get it, hardcore survival games are meant to be hardcore.....But this just feels unfair and a cheap way to add difficulty in an area it is not needed. I just died, now I'm being punished more for wanting my loot back. I mean, even adding more options for a session so the host could trim it out more in detail. Or even making it so predators are removed within a said distance of a loot bag. ANYTHING.
I mean, I can't even making a bag until like level 5 or housing.

Noone specialif you put in even a tiny bit of effort on your way back to your pallet, you can make some basic survival tools, sufficient even to fight bears with. The issue IMO is if you die at say, 1800, then by the time you are on your way back its dark, and it actually takes a bit of dedicated effort to make a bed because of the fur requirements, and the fact animals half the time dont even drop fur. For example, this screenshot is post death on my way back to the body. I have enough bone to make 13 arrows (one on the bow), with some more to spare, 34 leather, 7 meat and ONE fur. Fur is only consistent if using a skinning bench. Fur being unreasonably low dropping means its often not practical to try and make a bed if recovering your gear at night.

AlexHow do you keep getting mauled? You said you have experience in survival games. This is my first and I don't get killed twice for the same thing.
Especially now that you know exactly where your loot is. Just plan ahead when you go back for your loot. Get a bow, some arrows, get some fences, maybe build a small hunting tower. and kill the creatures from afar before going for your loot, if there are that many predators around that said loot.
Removing predators from a loot bag would make the idea of even dropping the loot pointless. Why not just respawn with the gear if there is no difficulty in getting it back?
