High Tier Workshop Items Break to Quickly

It takes 1,400 Exotics to obtain top tier items from the Workshop, yet they break almost as soon as you use them*. Workshop items cannot be repaired. At which point you are required to build another item that cannot match what you purchased in the Workshop. There should be a way to repair Workshop items or Workshop items should not break,
*ie. Used pickax to clear contents of a small 1 Tier Mine and the pickax broke on the last hit.
