Lost everything on an Outpost

I created an Outpost for my husband and myself and we spent hours the last 2 days on it. Around 6pm EST today we were finishing up our house and went out to hunt for meat and realized that there were no animals around at all. Also we had problems the last few hours: for example, I could see the double trees and get both charcoal and regular logs from them but my husband could only see and get regular logs. We decided be better relog and see if that fixed the situation but when I relogged on and subsequently when he logged on it was as if we logged in for the first time. We lost every item including stuff we had on ourselves. No items, no house, nothing.
