Frame drops when door breaks

I've only had this issue twice, but it's happened identically both times. A bear aggro's to me while I'm in my house. It breaks down my door while I'm trying to kill it, and then my frames immediately tank and don't recover unless i exit the drop. The bear also vanishes, not even leaving behind a body for me to loot. I don't know if it's specific to bears, the door breaking, the combination or what. But it's happened the same way twice, both instances on the River Lands map, though different drops.
