Gatherers Backpack Disappears on death

I have twice started a solo play prospect with a Gatherers backpack in my loadout, and equipped it when dropping into a prospect with no issues. After being knocked unconscious by a bear/boar combo, I respawned in random location, retrieved my body but found no trace of my backpack. If I abandon or complete the prospect, the backpack does not return with me so I am essentially losing 50 Exotics & 50 Ren every time.
