Crafting Table says it's not sheltered even though it is fully sheltered

I just started a new mission and made starter house out of wood (like I always do) then I placed my crafting table to go get some leather, when I came back I realised that it was destroyed (there was a strom when I was searching for leather) but the weird thing was that it was fully sheltered and my chest, bed and furnace didn't take a single damage, then I wanted to be sure so I placed a new crafting table in the middle of the house and when I did it says that the device is not sheltered but I can use all the other devices etc.
