Ability to permenatly mark map or add discovered places to map.
I want to add marks to the map that stay from mission to mission or the map should update with cave locations/drillable resource locations. Right now I can literally draw a map myself and mark it as those things are in the same place each mission but I don't want to have to work to play a video game. Can't think of a single reason why Caves and deep drilling veins /geysers are not added to the map as they are discovered. If I was a real prospector and this was my job I would mark them on my map... which i clearly have since I can hit a map key and see the map.

JoshuaIt would definitely be helpful to be able to add waypoints or otherwise mark the map while exploring etc. I don't think auto-updating the map based on discovery would be as fun or as useful as just being able to mark the map individually and name the point for later inspection. I personally use the radar to try to triangulate the exotics, but this is time-consuming and inaccurate. I would be a great help and great fun to just be able to mark the map, and when playing as a team, others should be able to see the marks, or at least the marks of the team leader/host.

ShockwaveIdeally like 7 days to die. They have a map you can put all kinds of marks on (they have a dozen to choose from from X to cave, to building, etc) and they stay permanently from game session to game session.
With different prospects I wasn't sure if personal marks could stay on the map, and in addition of multiple people have marks that everyone can see (you can only see your own in 7DTD) that could get real cluttered with 5 people all having the same cave marked.
So I think just revealing caves, drill-able deposits and geysers as permanent marks is the way to go. -
