[Suggestion] Improvements to laying water pipes and power wires
I think there are some definite improvements to be made to laying water pipes (and by extension power lines, 'cause they seem to have the same issues) that would go a long way towards making it a much smoother experience and looking much neater. Allowing us to choose the input and output direction of the nodes, rather than assigning it (seemingly) randomly, would be great. This is especially problematic when you have multiple lines running to/from the same node. So a fix might be, you put down a node and then you're able to select a direction for the input/output and then lay the pipe. This would solve the messy node and pipe problem. To get your pipes straight and at perfect right angles or whatever you're going for, you currently need to set your pipe work, exit the game and restart. This makes the pipes straight (in most cases) but it breaks up gameplay and gets rather tedious if you're doing it multiple times over and over. So I think this fix might help to address that.

StefanIt is possible to change the direction of the cables but it is very complicating and doesn't work always.

Dracon MergedHello! The game has a terrible implementation of electrical wiring, as well as laying water pipes. They are very uncomfortable and look terrible on the walls and floors of structures. A huge request to redo this! For example, add a machine on which you can modify the wall, floor, roof, so that everything that is attached to this object is automatically considered connected to electricity or water supply. You can also create a roof with solar panels. There is also a proposal to create an interior wall decoration, so many walls inside look terrible.

Kodie Collings MergedHey @Dracon for the time being, I highly recommend building a house slightly elevated on stilts (enough for your character to go under) and when you come to doing water pipes and electricity wiring, run them underneath the house. This way they are hidden from inside the base and easy to access and adjust if needed.

If going from a 2nd floor, I also recommend running pipes and wires along where beams would go and then placing beams over them to hide them. -

DTTo add to this I'd like that when running a line, when you get to the max drop point of a segment it automatically adds an end. Currently if you over extend you have to go backwards to be just short of the max segment length and then click. When doing tight corners it gets loopy. Difficult to make neat connections.

LianailOnce you click a node to add a line coming out of it, use the "R" button to cycle through the output direction if you choose, just like other pieces. By default, it should be straight.
