Exotics in caves?

I haven't seen an exotic node in a cave in weeks. Are they still spawning? I've unlocked them months ago, and have been farming the veins with the extractors. But still, for a few months after I unlocked the nodes, I would find one in about one out of 10 caves. Maybe one every other mission. But it's been weeks and weeks, and dozens and dozens of caves, since I've seen one. Was the spawn rate lowered? Is this a bug?

It does seem like they lowered the percentage a lot in the last few months; can't say exactly when, but I've only seen one in months.
