Resouces and configs more suited to session based
Not long into this game you moved squash to the desert meaning to make any recipes you had to run around to get all the ingredents to make them. This seems to be counter intuitive thinking for a session based game. It stopped being fun when you did that. It would be better to have all the ingredients and recipes available in the biome you are in. I stopped making recipes when you moved the squash. It extended the time it takes to do something without any reason and made it less enjoyable IMO. Typically most people drop in and setup a base then grind on the immediate area to build a base setup all the things and then use that as a base of operations. Takng you out of that area only to get one piece of food for a small reward is just not beneficial and counter to that type of gaming style.

cmopatrickI've got to agree with this. Why chase the ingredients (squash & mushrooms) needed across all three biomes for higher value recipes? The last time I used them, I brought them down from the workshop and then it was way back when while I still hadn't bought workshop armor and run out of slots to bring stuff down (the only consumable I bring down now is a bundle of arrows).
I no longer even set up much of a kitchen since with regular, premium, and dried meats, you can do pretty much anything you need foodwise. I set up just enough to convert excess premiums into regular for biofuel and to make the pills. My grow plots are just for the berries to bullets conversions (berries > fertilizer > gunpowder > bullets).
