[Bug] Omphalos: Expedition, Komodo Immediate Spawn and Player-Sighting on Normal mode Too High
I'm sure you've seen the requests to squash the bug that makes Komodo Dragons respawn infinitely, but the bug goes further in that I had these inifinite Komodos hunt me down from about 1000m. Now, I'm no expert on calculating game distance, but this is the first time I've had predators site me from so far away and pursue me even though they were not alert. This goes further because I believe I had a bear site me down in the same way, however this may be a fluke as I only had to deal with one bear, but the horde of Komodos will not go away.

Tomas MergedLooks that in this mission (Omphalos: Expedition) is problem with comodo spawning, I was killing comodos but there was more and more new comodos on island....
Found also similar problem with fish spawning, was staying in water and kiling fishes and there was still new and new fishes so leveling new character was realy fast. -

Nagasakii MergedOn the Prospect OMPHALOS: EXPEDITION When going to the first mission location, you are tasked with killing 15 Komodo Dragons. I assume the gameplay design aspect was to keep the Komodo's spawning to make sure the player doesnt "run out" of lizards to kill. However it appears an unintentional side effect has made them never stop spawning.

RejgnarIn addition: If you quit the game and reload that mission the counter of killed Komodos exceeds the required 15, leaving an empty checkbox.

EventideBump
Saw this problem in the Week 206 build.
Kill a bunch, Drop beacon, get the 'complete', pick up the beacon, and *runnnnn* far away.
Passing by this area after a break, on the way to the next objective, tanked FPS as all the new creature spawns loaded into physics. Don't go near the area, until the overall mission is complete.
Issue documented in this reddit thread (not mine) https://old.reddit.com/r/ICARUS/comments/1klp40c/an_overwhelming_quantity_of_komodos/ -

Raphaël MathieuFor real this bug is so annoying. I wanted to buy the Prometheus expansion for the game but honestly this bug made me refrain. Kinda disgusted me a little about the game. I really hope the dev know about this and are trying to fix this. I lose so much frame rate because of that

StempyI just lost my lvl 15 mount to an infinite Komodo attack here. I was one shotting them with bow and knife, but they spawned roughly 3 per second. They surrounded and killed my mount while I slaughtered over 20 of them. I used all my resources for the entire mission on surviving this part alone... I dropped my beacon and ran before they killed me. They were still infinite respawning when I left. I also noticed a significant frame rate drop when looking at the spot to drop the beacon.

DarenaJust of note: as of 4/19/2026, this is STILL HAPPENING. It got bad enough that I was barely able to escape the spawning area and my game nearly crashed from the piles of bodies and constantly incoming komodos. By the time I reached the second marker I chose, the far away one by the lake, the lag had reduced, but was still extreme, with constant stuttering and lag. Something needs to be done about this in particular, and if possible, some kind of addressing of how the game suffers when there are a large number of bodies or animals present in general.
