Can't join purchased Dedicated Server

My friend bought a dedicated server. When I first joined it worked great, for hours. Every time I try to log in since it goes to loading screen with an item floating, then a black screen, then another item floating, then back to main menu, no error or anything. Every time. I can play all other aspects of the game no problem with the exception of dedicated server.
