1. frametimes are very inconsistent and all over the place which results in very bad stuttering. see screenshot for example, this line should be straight.
2. Performance is very poor. lowering settings doe not help much, even tried all DLSS options but from OFF to Ultra performance DLSS I gain maybe 20 FPS. Even with DLSS off and lowering rendering resolution barely does anything.

All drivers up to date and Windows up to Date
I even tried my other system 8700k with RTX3070, same issue there.

When you are aiming with the bow and are zoomed in, if you switch from your bow to something else(used number keys), it was a pick ax for me, the bow was zoomed in when I switched back. Was able to reproduce it regularly.

Very poor overall performance on OC'd i9 9900k, 32GB 3200mhz RAM, 2080Super, SSD. Does not feel like I'm getting the frames the steam overlay says I am - that frame graph in the OP is why, I guess. Performance is my biggest concern with the game right now.

I don't have the highest end set up but the performance/ frame rate issues are rough. Changing the graphic settings doesn't change anything performance wise, usually sitting around 20 fps. Also noticed a hard fps drop when using the bow.

For how average the game looks, the performance is abysmal.
Changing from high to low had no effect on framerate. FP games need 120+ fps.
Hopefully gets optimised before release or its a refund.

Same. Depth of Field (blurred vision) when using the bow kills my framerate. Forget trying to chase and hunt anything on foot through vegetation. Have tried on low settings and still seeing that inconsistency in FPS.

Same... horrible performance in comparison to other unreal games. 5120*1440@120 framerate limited in game to 117 vsync on and DLSS performance selected, settings High, Fullscreen. 50FPS average with sometimes spikes to 70FPS and dips down to 30fps.

seems to be no optimization at all yet, some with highend cards get low fps while some with low end cards get high fps, also seems to be depending alot on the rest of your system, for example the game is very ram hungry.
also theres games looking better with more mechanics that even a gtx760 can play while here you cant play below a gtx960 (not even on everything low on 720p ^^). but optimization will come later on as usual, hopefully to a huge extend...
@norbu gtx1070 i7 2nd gen, 16gb ram, ssd, win7. playing on everything epic with 20-30fps. intro not stuttering, but alot of short fps drop spikes in game, not much of an issue but saying not running smooth. so definately depending on the overall system and probably even the component brands differences

Still huge amounts of stuttering happening when moving around the game world. Seems to happen a lot in certain areas like near cave entrances (the ones in the chasm on the line of J14 / K14) but also just happens randomly a lot.

The game runs well enough (over 60fps) @ 1440p with everything on High and Textures at Epic (15GB of memory being used on the 3090...) but the stuttering is god awful. Worse when you zoom in with a bow making tracking a target terrible sometimes. Then the random hitch when, I think, it's unloading/loading an area. You can almost consistently make it hitch going back and forth between areas.

Seeing the exact same issues. GTX 2080 Ti @ 3440*1440 G-Sync
All the things that typically work and increase performance, does the exact opposite in this game.
Lowering settings, only felt like it made things worse .

DLSS off, made things look slightly different and handle a fair bit better.
Altering the resolution render scale set to 70% gave some hard needed FPS gains.

But lowering graphical settings all the way down, made the game ugly and still handle rubbishly for the significantly less appealing graphics.
Stuttering and hick-ups were much worse at lower settings, likely due to a higher FPS tanking to much lower value's.

Cranking settings to max, weirdly enough made the game a lot more bearable. FPS obviously was lower, but with less stuttering, it felt much smoother even with the FPS being lower. Speculating that higher settings like 'Epic' caches a lot more data, reducing possible loading of new data?

While aiming down sights I have noticed the camera responding to your mouse is much more rough and unprecise compared to no ADS. It is very jumpy and seems like the response to the mouse movement during aiming is not as good especially when you are trying to snipe that deer or wolf from a distance. You aim for a headshot and try to move just a hair to the right then it jumps too far, try to come back to the left and again it jumped back over to the other side. I tested adjusting my mouse dpi (razer naga trinity) and the in game aim sensitivity and nothing made it better. NEEDS TO BE SMOOTHED OUT. (stamina was not an issue while aiming)

I am glad that they have stated it is a known issue.

G-Sync 165Hz 2560x1440.

63fps EPIC settings, but quickly dipping down to 40 or even 20fps.
65fps LOW settings, same as above dropping to 40 or lower in certain places.
Frame times of 15-22ms!

CPU: Ryzen 7 2700x (liquid cooling) no OC / CPU is not working very hard even on EPIC sits around 30% (13% on LOW)
RAM: 16GB 3200MHz
GPU: 3070Ti (newest drivers - 471.96) / GPU utilised 99% on EPIC and around 76% on LOW

Yes, Intro video is stuttering.

The game is fantastic, but we, desperately, need those performance issues addressed ASAP.

My PC isn't the best PC money can buy, but it's also no slouch either. I've had zero issues running games like Escape from Tarkov and AC: Valhalla at max graphical settings and hitting a steady 60-80 fps consistently. This game, with most settings on medium (some even low like shadows/foliage) I barely manage to stay at a consistent 35-40 fps with constant frame rate drops that at times hits as low as 8 fps for 10 seconds or more at a time. I'm not sure where the issue is, but half the time I don't even want to play the game because the fps performance is so awful.

this seems more like a network issue more than anything else to me. my setup runs about 70-80% on current settings and can be sitting regularly at 50-60FPS. I'm pretty sure this is more like a packet dropped error since we are all playing from their servers. this issue should be non existent on solo mode and local servers, which i'm sure we will see once they finally have those options.

Yes switching to other handheld while aiming with bow, does not reset aim sensisivity. Only switching back to bow and cancel aim resets it. Reproducable always.

I can relate to the issue, I have a good performance after a game start or a game restart, but once I keep playing and exploring the game starts to stutter after 1-2 hours. I think this is related to the game cache or something since it clusters and deposits know location information. Also, this can happen because I have a 6800 graphics card and I play on 4K with the biggest graphics settings.

Similar issues this week (B3) whereas previous weekends seemingly ran better. During B3 we all had frequent frame drops, hitching and stuttering.

This seemed to be get worse when others joined the prospect. Things really went down hill fast when one of our team wanted to jump in but only had his friend's older laptop to play on at the time. You could see him skipping as he ran and he reported having a very laggy experience, while the rest of the group saw an increase in stuttering and skipping, especially when moving across the map or turning the camera. When he was playing from his desktop computer the game ran more smoothly for everyone.

Yeah its all over the place for me too, but the glitches and stuttering and bogging down is really annoying. Have it limited to 75FPS but the bogs and glitches go all the way down to almost single digits, its bizarre.

Just logged in for beta weekend and the graphics look like crap. The trees etc look all jittery. Tried all different graphics settings but nothing works. I have the latest graphics drivers and didn't have an issue previous weekends. Game is near unplayable with this.

To my wonderful surprise, I login last night and I'm running at a consistent 57-75 fps the entire night. The first time since this beta launched that the fps has been stable. No doubt it's going to be a fun weekend on Icarus. And then you patch something...and you break the fps stability again. Go figure.

The guy who said it seems like a dropped packet nailed it. Are there plans to allow the game to be client hosted after official launch? It's telling when so many with newer machines run into the same unexpected frame drop issue at random. Makes total sense if what we're encountering isnt hardware related but occasional high latency between servers in NZ (or wherever you guys host) and all the myriad of places people play from.

Game stuttering the same way, no matter if I set graphics on Epic, high, medium or low.
I can't even play, only 10 min and I'm having seasick.
It's really sad because I'm really hiped by this game and I hope an optimisation will be made because I haven't a huge set up but I can run Battlefront and Apex nearly max graphics but can't even play Icarus over 10 fps...
I'm not asking for full HD (I know it's impossible with my graphic card), but I would like to be able to play the game with descent graphics and framerate as for my other games.
If no optimisation is made before the end of the beta process, I'll be very sad about that but I will have to uninstall the game and get refound before it's no more possible.

Performance is good for the first hour , then it drops to 15fos .
Performance and the settings are many of our biggest concerns.
I believe from listening to my discord community . Most will not purchase the game because of the hardware requirements . Some have tried and then refunded . Fix the settings so they actually work . And the performance is taxing in a one year old machine .

I have a problem with fps dropping over time (starts at 120 then 100, 80, 60... etc ... until the game is no longer playable) as I play

The CPU seems very poorly used, and it gets worse as the game progresses, the game tends to use only one thread (see picture), and I think it's the cause of the FPS dropping over time.

Beta 6 brought back massive FPS issues for me. I would be playing with friend and my frame rate would plummet to about 5-10 FPS unless I looked straight down at the floor for up to 3 minutes. I changed my setting from Epic to medium with no effect.

This weekend (BETA 6) I had this exact issue. I was on a prospect with several friends and we built three rather massive structures. A 8x5 three-story stone base, and HUGE stone walk-way / path leading up the cliff-side to another 6x5 three-story stone base. My performance was fine at the start of the prospect, But as we built more and more, my perfomance brought my down to an avg. of 18 FPS.

My system is rather old I'll admit.

gtx1060 (6GB)
32GB ddr4-3200 ram (2x16 kit)

The performance was bad for everyone of my friends who have much better (newer) GPUs than I do. As a test, I created a new character and started a solo prospect. As soon as I landed I was getting a solid 60FPS on average. The game was highly responsive and easily playable. Our conclusion was all the building/items we crafted and deployed into the world was crushing GPU performance. Small bases FTW!

Me and my friend had similar issues this weekend.
I am running an i7-8086K and a 3080 FTW3, he is running Ryzen 5800X and 3070 (LHR), and we would both drop from roughly 70-80fps down to 20-25fps at random times, for about 30-60 seconds. We did notice this happened more often with forest fires going on, even without looking at the fires, and in some areas of the forest biome potentially being a loading area issue?
Friend did change his frame limiter to 120fps and saw big gains from ~65fps average up to 80 fps average, my limiter is set to 100 (i have a 100hz monitor) and I never reached 100, averaging 80ish fps all weekend. with some small dips down to 65ish, outside of the big drops.

Settings: Window mode 2560x1440px, ingame settings on EPIC

The game is fluent (>60fps) most of the time without DLSS. Huge fps drops in zone transitions (down to 3fps) for a few (potentially dangerous depending on combat state) seconds (with and without DLSS). Turning DLSS on to the highest quality setting does not bring any tangible fps improvement. Setting it to Performance adds around 10fps and ultra performance another 10fps. So I get peaks of around 110fps, but still remain at an average 80-90fps with some drops to below 60fps depending on vegetation or environment (near mountains for example). The zone stuttering remains regardless of any setting.

We experienced, playing with a friend, some FPS drops that made the game unplayable for both of us.
On High settings with either a 1080 or a 2060 video card.
Either me or him hosting, and either the client or the host lagging at different times.
We couldn't find a consistent reason why the FPS drop would happen but it usually lasts 30s to a few minutes. Comes back to normal and starts again later.
The stuttering makes it impossible to survive or even select anything in a menu.

To add to this observation, playing at 4k, DX12, All quality settings high except view distance to epic, DLSS on, performance 0.7, RTX on, RTXGI on, FOV 100: frame rate was at 45-60 (limit set to 60) game was using 17.9 - 18.4 GBs of VRAM.
Changed FOV to 120, Frame rate held solid at 60-61 (limit still set at 60) GPU use dropped from 100% to 93%. Same VRAM use.
Game was beautiful all through experimental7 and BW7 with few frame drops, and occasional crashes.
i7-8086K OC @ 5.0GHz (liquid cooled), 64GB 2667MHz RAM, Samsung SSD 960PRO 1TB, NVIDIA RTX Titan (24GB VRAM)

I had to switch to overall settings high, and turn off RTX for ~70fps.
After a few hours of game the fps average dropped to 35.

The map takes a close to 10 seconds to load. When I open any other menu section its instantly, but the map for some reason always lags.

I experience lag severe enough to render the game unplayable in Co-Op.
When I play single-player, there's no lag.

Game gets ~50FPS high on a 5900X w/ 5700XT GPU, 32GB RAM.

There are points (especially when fire is on screen) that it hits < 5 FPS.

Forest fire gave vary bad frame drops for me. Also visiting the burned area afterwards gave severe stuttering and framdrops. This can't be due to complex geometry or textures since the burned trees uses less geomtery and textures than the ones with foliage. Feels more (as mentioned above) like a server issue. Frame drops and lag worse when playing with a friend in co-op. Have been running the game with DX12, high settings, DLSS on, global illumination.

My computer specs: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core Processor 3.70 GHz, 32 GB ram 2133 mhz, RTX 3080, LG ultrawide 3440x1440.

All settings to EPIC, maxed out every AMD setting as well. Runs average 64 fps

I get very very smooth fps untill i put any light on like a torch and then complete fps drop, anyone know what is causing this? I got same settings for other games like Battlefield or Call of Duty and there i get at least 100 fps without any issues.

Since that patch I cant play because the game just freeze after a couple of minutes playing. It's so annoying. The only thing i can do is just restart the PC, even the task manager doesn't respond.
Even the las t patch didn't fix the crashes.

Inconsistent frame times for me causing stutters. Flames of any kind obliterate frames especially forest wildfires, I don't need to be near them or looking at them for them to effect my frames still. I want to enjoy this game but I find myself tweaking settings on a daily basis rather than playing the damn game. Ground textures also look like soup regardless of texture setting, and since you spend a lot of time looking at the floor on this game, this needs to be addressed.

This started a day or two ago. When I host a game and play co-op with a friend, I have zero lag (as expected). When my friend hosts, I get a lot of lag. To the point where sometimes I can't deploy items or pick things up. It also seems to make downed trees fly all over the place like gravity is messed up. This lag issue wasn't happening prior to the last couple days. Both my friend and I did ISP speed tests and our connections looked fine.

I think my 3080ti is scared of fire in this game as it rapidly clocks down, reduces power and hides to give me an awesome 10-15fps lagfest!

It is slightly better since yesterdays patch, but some is seriously wrong and I suspect the strange way you clumped together various settings into to one setting isn't helping. Can we not have separate settings instead?
LIke that one setting which is for ambient occlusion, something and depth of field. I don't like depth of field, the human eye doesn't work like that... it's just a gimmicky effect. You clearly have screen space reflections somewhere in there which I also hate. AA is Low-Epic... Is "Low" off? I find AA to be utterly pointless when playing at 4k.

You need to give us the ability to adjust all of the settings individually or at least give us an option to do so... like in many games it's called "Advanced Settings" ;)

What's up with the lag that comes right after agro-ing the predators? This is especially troublesome with the already ninja bears. Most of the time, as soon as I pull aggro whether on purpose or not, the game starts to lag and then I can't fight back and I end up dying.

Poor performance/fps is amplified massively when you are the host too. There is a separate 'suggestion' for this at https://icarus.featureupvote.com/suggestions/230505/observation-hosting-prospect-reduces-gpu-usage-significantly. This issue also needs to be upvoted and updated to be a bug, and not a suggestion. Nobody in my group wants to host games, and I end up running around with single digit FPS during storms with a 3080, 32Gb of Ram, and a 5600x. Genuinely i nearly uninstalled it last night because it was unplayable. It would be a shame to let problems like this gut the game early on because genuinely we are all really enjoying the game itself.

Desert maps are unplayable at 9fps. Starts off ok, then slowly gets worse.
Running on mostly Epic settings with 25-30fps on the forrest and Arctic for hours. Desert drops within 10 minutes of play time.
I have played with DLSS, RTX, Direct X 11 and 12, and turned things down with no real differences.
The desert was actually better in Beta.

Previous Co-op session was playable and only experienced a couple of occurrences of lag, but they were very short.

In this newest Co-op session there's enough lag to make the game almost unplayable.
Intermittent lag but not totally unplayable. Mission Summary isn't loading when attempting to create a new session.
