When playing in borderless fullscreen the games locks to nonnative resolution

Ive gotten a 4k TV recently im using as a monitor and i noticed the game looking really bad when i opened it. The borderless mode is locking the game into 1080P making the game look really bad on my native 4k tv. Im being forced to play fullscreen just so i can set the resolution manually. My previous monitor was 1440p and i don't think had this problem but i may have just not noticed. I saw a year old post about this but it was clearly ignored for the poster being a dick about it. Please fix this, it doesn't take long to take a look at the blueprint and fine the problem.
