New players have no clue what needs to happen when they land. Take advantage of the DROP POD cockpit to solve this problem. On a monitor have a message scrolling in front of the player on the way down: "SURVIVAL 101: OXYGEN - pick up blue oxite on the ground or make a pick and mine it from the oxite nodes then put the oxite in your suit's oxygen slot. SHELTER - you can find a large mineable rock and create a small cave in the side of it for a shelter to get out of the weather." Make a button that can toggle the message on and off.
