Please re-add the data transfer button for people who lost all their progress

I haven't played since last December and tried to do the workarounds described in the discord. I worked my way through them all, but got stuck when trying to download the previous version when a .pak file had issues. I can launch the game but it immediately dumps out with an Unreal 4 error.

Please readd the button, at least for people who haven't successfully migrated their previous data. I'd love to keep playing the game but won't if I have to start from 0.

Back in December, Icarus changed where it stores your game data. We migrated from a central server to storing your game data on your local PC. You can read more about this in our Week 53 update: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1149460/view/3611354355089820956

For the three months after this change, everyone loading the game had their data automatically migrated and downloaded locally. In March the central servers were closed and we no longer store your game or character data. Unfortunately we can't restore it for you.

However, some community members have been sharing instructions for altering your game files in order to build your characters up a bit quicker. I've attached a screenshot with that.

Thank you for your quick response, that is one of the many things that I love about the game and the team building and supporting it.

What I encountered last week was started by a bunch of friends who got back into the game and when trying to join them, I discovered that none of my characters or any of my unlocks were there. That sucked.

I found a workaround that was recommended by the team and tried to follow it, but it was unsuccessful. Specifically, after setting up a shortcut that would allow steam console to be unlocked and then running the command for download, it failed with the error "Depot download failed : error writing chunk for "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\content\app_1149460\depot_1149461\Icarus\Content\Paks\pakchunk0_s14-WindowsNoEditor.pak"

I tried deleting the content/app_1149460 folder and rerunning and each time I would encounter this issue.

If the server is gone, tell me that. I don't want to cheat my way back to my unlocks, I want my data as it was

I'm not really sure what you're asking for, but we unfortunately can't restore your data as we no longer have it.
