[Suggestion] Animals and the Food Chain
I think Icarus could really benefit from a legitimate food chain with the flora and fauna. As it stands, predators are nothing more than scavengers in Icarus, only consuming carcasses that players have killed, and never hunting for their own meals. Deer will walk by or sit by wolves without a worry in the world, as an example. It would also add a new element to survival if prey animals ate flora, forcing players to compete with the local wildlife for all food. This would probably necessitate a re-balancing of resources in the world, not to mention resource regeneration, but the immersion factor and the interesting challenge would make it well worth it!

ZoidyI could be wrong here and probably are but I think in the Beta if you injured and failed to kill a deer or a goat etc any predators wolves and bears etc would chase after the animal you injured and finish them off and eat them. Im sure this happened int he beta but was removed or I quite possible can't remember as it has been over a year or so since the Beta Weekends etc...
If I'm wrong then this would be an interesting addition, making Predator and Prey more fitting to their roles. -

FalconburgerMaybe give predators a hunger bar. Onces its at 50% they start chasing/killing prey animals. Once it's at 25% they start chasing prospectors. Don't respawn prey until the predator count is reduced. This would lead to prospectors finding it hard to find prey animals to eat if the bears etc ate them all leading to competition for food. You could have the prey animals (or any omnivore) also strip all the wild crops (and raid your garden) leading to scarcity. Once animals hunger bar is empty they die. As it is now the animals are all zombies. Being able to swim backwards in water with a knife to kill a bear seems a bit silly too. Make bears swim faster than prospectors.
