[Suggestion] Red Exotics extracting & organic residue cleanser balance
It takes a lot of work to make it to the far end of tier 4 to mine the red exotics, which is OK. It currently takes two organic residue cleansers with water to almost keep up with one red exotic extractor ring. During the extracting process, it's a bunch of just sitting around and waiting... animals do not bother us and it's a very slow process. We had two red exotic nodes on a prospect and spent hours basically AFK while they did their thing...which is boring and hurts the end user experience. We would like to see a ratio where we only need 1 cleaner per extractor, which maybe can be done with some perks or upgrades to make the cleaner work faster to keep up. It would also be a better user experience to have the extractor work much faster, but spawn waves of animals to attack... similar to radar scans. We need to keep the prospectors engaged. I think it took us about 3 hours per node, which should be something like 30-45 minutes per node to keep players engaged.

KaffeLexI agree, the extraction is way too slow. It's painful to sit for ages and just wait.

DerkatronI think a fine solution to this would be to double the speed of the red extractor, but halve the speed of cleansing reds. This will allow you to mitigate the time by using more cleansers, or just wait it out with one, and lower the 'stand around staring at the tree' time tremendously.

FreyaI understand why the extractors are attacked by wildlife. But damn that time waiting is killing us. Sometimes the extractor is barely attacked by one or 2 wolves in the whole process. But if you are away it's more than enough for the item to be destroyed wich is equaly frustrating.
But i understood that developers are working on defense turets. If they can be set to work automaticaly once they are on electricity and not only within the range of the player that can be a solution. Obviously you will need tier 3 bench and stuff so you still won't be able to just pop in a mission/open world with a workshop extractor and just rush it but that seems fair.
I have great hopes for the turrets, you might also be able to have your chickens and sheeps protected from predators when you are away, now you can literaly be a space farmer^^ I mean without having to spend hours building incredible houses far up big rocks building a ton of fences with spikes. -

ГеоргийWhy are you watching how it works? There are plenty of things to do while the extractors are running. Try completing missions (operations). We have a problem that there are not enough slots in the extractor and when we return it is always full.
The problem of animal attacks can be easily solved by building a protective structure. Usually a simple wooden box is enough, but you can put up fort walls, which will completely protect any extractors. -

TLHWarScootmanI personally just make a concrete box for the extractors (I do this for my Electric Drills as well to prevent any damage issues)
It would be nice if the Red Exotics stacked more per slot, and if there was an "advanced" Red Exotics Harvester that had much more storage that would eliminate the need to stay relatively close and check on it to make sure it's not full. If it also was a bit faster collecting the red exotics I wouldn't mind either as has been suggested. Even if it was only faster extraction and not faster cleaning I'd be ok with that.
Stack size and number of extractor inventory slots would resolve some QOL issues tho. -

PhilosopherBeen spending a lot of time on Prometheus lately and I've actually found it to be reasonably well done considering the value of Reds. I do other things while the cleanser is busy and once I can build one cleanser I can build more if needed.
What would be nice is to double the storage on the extractor, or if they came in stacks of 20. Those extractors fill up really fast and the area is so hard to reach.
I can also recommend going flower harvesting. Plopping those flowers in the orbital aeroponic plot in a greenhouse, throwing on basic fertilizer and harvesting them with the increased harvestables on my sickle nets me a decent supply. -

you can simply do something else as you wait
Tho on regular extractors you can store up to 200 items, wich is nice since the extractor can only mine 100-300 so you can safely be done by removing items from the extractors one time when its done
For rings, it can still mine up to 300 but they only store 50, wich makes you have to clean the ring up to 5 times before it finishes -

AriThere is no need to change anything, even with the current settings we collect much more than we actually need.

CattyI like the idea of the original poster but i would like the option to trigger "faster extraction for the next X minutes but it will attract wild life" instead of making it fixed on attracting wild life.
That would keep the players engaged that want to be busy with it but also give option to do other things if you want to.
