[Bug](Week 92) MXC Fuel Canister does not return to orbit if used

The MXC Fuel canister that I lowered from orbit (OEI), spent a little (Biofuel generator) and returned (drop module) did not return to orbit - it simply disappeared. The same character was used, I was on a solo mission.
I bought a new one, lowered it (OEI), spent a little, filled it back (Biofuel Composter), sent it into orbit (drop module OEI) - did not return.
I bought a new canister, brought the module, moved it to inventory, returned it to the module (that is, did not use it at all), sent it out - returned to orbit.
Is this a NEW bug or have the operating principles changed? (I'm not the only one who has this question)

Everything is written differently here, it should work like a canteen or oxygen tank.

Yep, I've used it in the past, refilled it, and returned it full to the station and was able to bring it back down to the surface on another prospect. This past week or so, though, it's vanished when I've tried to send it back up. Other workshop gear gave me the "returned XXX" message and went back into my station inventory, but this canister neither gave me the message nor returned to the station.
