[Suggestion] PVP or Some type of larger threat to survival
This game falls extremely flat and becomes super dull after you get to end game gear. It's repetitive and grindy and not in a good way. It would be much more rewarding if you could lose it all in the open world to another player. Me and my friends come back to and and only last a week before we all get bored, it feels like we're playing house after a while.

ZER0 Mergedhey would be good if you added a huge map where you can have up to 30 players or more to play on and survive dedicated servers would be cool i think

Alex MergedThat sounds like another version of Rust. I would not like that, if I wanted that I would play another game.

RudY Merged5 teams of 5 players are scattered across the map, as a team they have to survive and eliminate the other teams, find their base. Destroy their totem, when the clan base is destroyed the players cannot respawn. Last team standing is declared the winner.

Mike MergedWhy does it have to end in merely destroying the other team?
Why not have both teams each being employed by a separate corporation. Have it so that whilst yes, they *could* wipe each other out, it would be at the cost of completing their own operation. Make it so that they have to fight each other off prime caves/ hunting grounds etc. -

Rish MergedDear reader,
I dont have friends to play the game with me, and a few public servers would be a nice feature, because I only have a few reasons to continue playing the game since I´m not bothered to go into other discord servers just to ask if someone wants to play with me or help me in different scenarios.
I want to join people´s missions because I want to find friends IN the game, while playing. I want to have different experiences, with random people.
Since we are at it, a toggle for turning of PVP would be nice even when making your own matches, because of "accidents".
I understand that this can be hard to implement, but you could make public "worlds" too. where everyone has to work together all around the planet. Gathering many rare mats or killing a certain amount of different dangerous enemies etc.. There you can choose to group with people or do some things on your own. And so ppl dont go afk, helping to progress on that planet gives many points after.
Thanks for -

Rish MergedSuggestion on the public world thing:
The worlds could reset daily or weekly, with different challenges everytime a new public world get published. Maybe you could add cosmetics or extra modules because people love that kinda stuff, and therefore would get them as rewards with station points when you do something for it of course. When the world is finished, the planet vanishes and everyone gets participation bonuses too.
To make it more understandable: You could give everyone the same mission, with their own progress, i.e. kill 2 alpha wolves. When you complete that, you get a skin for your axe and 500 station points. A hit on a alpha wolf would count as a kill for you when it gets killed by someone else within 5 minutes. And the world would disappear when 69 players complete that mission while giving everyone who completed their mission a module that you can´t buy as a completion bonus. -

Jonathon Stevens MergedI think a quick and easy way to implement a first round of PvP capabilities is take the current 8 person (i think it's 8) limit and split it for a PVP match. Everyone has the same objective but you lobby 4 v 4 essentially. You already allow players to be killed and revived and lootable.
* Implement lobby for 4v4
* Matchmaking random at first later can implement MMR if desired
* Different spawn points so teams have time to build up before going after objective
* Random spawn points so people can't just purchase equipment and run over to other spawn to kill noobs.
Later you can implement more fully a PvP solution but this would be likely the least amount of code. -

Jonathon Stevens MergedAlso forgot to mention in original post, I'd IMMEDIATELY pay for an expansion pack at full price that enabled multiplayer in even a decent way. Don't wait to sell x number of copies more, just make it an expansion we pay for. I bet a ton of people would be in line for purchasing an expansion that gave us real pvp.

Jello Mergedi'm dreamin of rust like vibes on this beautifull planet ! Missions where you know there's other enemies beside the NPC's would just give a whoooole new aspect of the game. In order for it to work it has to be thought through very carefully but this has allot of potential ( and is maybe already your plan in the far future ). It could and maybe should be a whole new "game mode" beside the missions.

Wyze MergedSome players come into the game expecting to play it like RUST etc... killing, destroying, looting... However, if server owners had the ability to turn PvP off within the server settings config that might be helpful when a new player comes to Icarus from a more aggressive PvP title to a server that is meant to be PvE and the server browser should reflect which servers are intended to be PvP vs PvE.

Black Wolf MergedThis is for. prevent someone joining a dedicated sv from being able to interact with foreign bases and other player's inventories. So if the sv is wanted to make a sv pvp it can be done calmly. and thus maintain the privacy of teams of players outside these bases
sorry for my English. I use google translate -

Spencer MergedI've played over 500 hours and I find the game to be slowing down. I would love a mode where me and my buddies all start at a random location and could just pvp. All we would need is a random starting location. We can create our own rules.

StanisTry missions, as you get to the tech tier you need, complete the mission, then start from scratch (or whatever workshop tier you have) on the next mission, essentially being exactly what you are asking for.
If you added something that set you back to square one in open world it would ruin the reason it was added in the first place, being persistence. -

ZorboPlease do not make this a PvP game. To be a great PvP game, the core of the game needs to be built for it with full consideration of the workflow. If it is added now, it will be bolt-on and severely fall short of the mark. Plus, it would really suck to lose a PvP battle and gear due to having a random performance issues and fps drops.
Having said that, I completely feel and support your observation that the game becomes dull... I feel the same way. There was not enough effort put into the PvE and long-term play-ability of the game to fix that. The game feels like more of a grind most of the time instead of being fun. Even the boss fights are just a boring grind and with the new Promethius map, we hit so many bugs with boss fights that a few of our members rage quit. I really hope someone can evaluate the entire game and find the missing parts to make it fun and unique so that hopefully a year or two in the future we can have a proper game to play. -

SkipnstonesNo PVP. This would be a totally different game. The whole idea was a solo PVE environment and they added the ability to invite friends to adventure with.
I am a disabled vet and do not need a bunch of ego-maniacs running around attacking my bases or ninja killing anything they see. My wife and I enjoy what we bought, a PVE game that seems to have no evil characters to deal with. -

RyanI agree PVP would be a totally different game and it would take a tremendous amount of dev time; would be cool though as an option. I think a more viable option to keep the game difficult even into the late game is improving the animal AI, adding more animal types with different behaviors (i.e., stalking, pack attacks, etc.), referencing a different post of mine, adding instant damage sub events in weather like hail, sleet, sand storm. Not sure about the lore, but I think animals can be crazed or "changed" they could be attracted to certain activities at your house like cooking food, using more advanced deployables that would force you to build defenses. I'll make another post about forcing you to play at night, but night would be more dangerous, sleeping to skip night seems dumb IMO.
