[Suggestion] Tames too slow when following
We all know that the animals on the planet can keep up with you on foot. So why do tames all end up entire sectors behind you when you have them set to follow, even on a flat area in the arctic? The farther behind they are, the more likely it is they're going to get stuck on terrain because they're programmed to straight line it to your character. Even if they're set to passive so they won't attack, they still loiter about and move much slower than if they were wild. They also take longer than they should to even start moving toward you.
The solution is simple: make them follow closer, make them follow sooner, and have them move at their maximum speed (or even faster since there are talents and modules that increase tame speeds). They should heel like a real trained animal would, practically at your side.

teslanzThere is a realism to that such as length of legs, and skill upgrade can increase this, how much i'm not sure yet. However, it is like they are just that bit too delayed over short distances which is a hassle when going through base gates for example so I agree some attention to this is needed.

Corné van den BoschAt least they now teleport to your location when they're set to follow and you're too far away...

TaryngarSometimes they teleport. Sometimes they get hungry or thirsty and that short circuits the teleporting because they're stuck in a "find food" loop. And sometimes they just poof from existence with zero death log in the chat (so they didn't get killed by an attacker). And in the meantime you're getting killed because you wanted to have a beastmaster spec and your beasts aren't near you when the bear attacks.

ivanisovichI agree that they need to follow more closely, and realism is needed for something like pugs ands boars' short legs. But, also some of this could be solved by slightly better pathfinding...such as a pathing rule that if they suddenly stop or move very slowly (such as sliding slowly along an angled rock face), then they are stuck and should look at moving perpendicular to the player instead of toward the player for a few feet and then retry going toward the player.

A prime example for me is mid-early game when bases are small and crowded; a dog or Moa can't path around objects to get to a door to leave the building, and it often won't teleport to me, either. -

MickhaelStrange... a not tamed wolf, if saw the player run very fast to him, but if tamed run very slowly.
If I'm not wrong, running speed of a wild wolf is around 1000. Why when is tamed his running speed is so low? -

Russ MergedWhile I like having my tamed creatures that are lagging behind suddenly teleport to my position, it is a little disconcerting when I am in a full run on my Moa to have buffalo with carts suddenly rain from the sky in front of me. Perhaps have them instead teleport nearby slightly to either side of me or just behind me instead?
Also, when the tamed creatures teleport in, I've had them pop in on the path of my swing of an axe, so they take damage. I mean, could you have them teleport in just a few inches to the right instead, so that I'm not suddenly decapitating my pet wolf? -
