[Suggestion] Reduce/edit how often the game auto saves. Or fix how saving works
Any time the game auto saves it will cause a very brief micro stutter on OW's older than a year. It appears to be an on going issue with any player with an open world that is decently established. The game was originally dedsigned to be an extraction based survival game, but it appears to have some performance issues in open world due to the nature of the game.
I understand fixing an issue like this can be a big undertaking. But I am not alone with this issue: https://discord.com/channels/715761957667602502/1369097741149671494
If we could have the ability to increase the time between auto saves I feel like it would be a great band aid fix. Stutters every 1min because the game saves ruins immersion. Its enough to make you want to start a new save, but then worry the problem may just return once you rebuild. I want to be able to play freely without restrictions, not worrying about optimization issues all the time =/ . Thank you devs, we appreciate you!

Darena Bryant MergedI've been looking for ways to reduce stuttering/lag, and when checking the save files, I noticed there are 11 backup saves per normal save, each saved about half an hour apart. Thinking on this, I realized that each time a new save is made, the game is pushing the older saves down the list of 11 saves, rewriting each one, each time, to make space for the latest save. This seems like a lot of background work to have going on in this very intensive game, and would probably use a lot of RAM to do it, or perhaps temp hard drive space. Is it really necessary to have 5 1/2 hours of backup saves for each game? I feel like just 2 hours of backups would be plenty. It's quite possible that with that many saves being made in the background, this is part of the cause of stuttering on systems with less RAM or open HD space to work in, isn't it?

vlakipn MergedPlease add an option to change autosave interval. Id rather lose 10min of gameplay, then have 10 annoying stutters in 10 minutes (caused by autosave). Thank you.

Mike MergedThere is a lag when automatically saving every minute. There is nothing wrong with the newly created map, but this problem will occur after playing for a long time. I remember it started to lag after I started keeping pets

RodMy computer system is advanced enough to build several base/outposts all over the map, the save lag gets worse over time as the save file grows over time. So every minute the game pauses to the point that is seems MORE laggy than an online game like Star Citizen. Please allow users to disable this feature and allow quicksave using the F5 keybind. thank you and it's still one of my favorite games with the imcredible open world weathered environment :)

jack sheetbeen complaining about this for over 2 years - the devs don't care, as long as yer buying the cheesy DLC, they think they are entitled to get paid for.

MatheusIs this FPS drop really just a saving issue? It seems to be an optimization issue as well. Wouldn't establishing some boundaries around the character improve the problem? Instead of loading all the map information, you could just render a smaller area around the character, or even create a loading screen for different areas (I know this takes away from the immersion of the open world, but it's better than playing with the FPS so low, in my opinion).
