[Suggestion] Quarrite boss needs to be nerfed
I realize on hard difficulty the boss should be a challenge but it is far too overpowered the AOE stun when cave worms spawn makes you unable to move and a sitting duck for countless worms to stack poison and after the long slog of a fight to the final phase the boss gets a full heal and does constant jumps sending out wide AOE shock waves that do high damage and knock you into the air just to be jumped on again the second you land I've beaten the other two bosses on hard and it wasn't even remotely this bad please make some adjustments

MickhaelNot so bad... can be done. Or maybe we has luck. Anyway is a hard mode. For us Rimetusk Matriarch was the worst. As a rule... I don't agree to lower the difficulty in ICARUS. For who feel that challenges are to hard, just play normal or easy.
Anyway many players consider ICARUS became less difficult that was announced to be. And every map was marketed to be more difficult than previous one.... -

RobertI don't think that any of the core boss fight mechanics are too difficult on their own... but the game has a lot of optimization and lag issues that come into play during the boss fights, which makes the fights painful and unenjoyable. For example, we have lots of issues where our shots are missing the boss and do no damage. Then we have lag during the fight that appears as the boss and minions teleporting around, which makes them very unpredictable and hard to hit. I can be fighting the boss and a team member pulls aggro, so the boss is running away from me and towards a teammate... then all of a sudden the boss teleports and is on top of me and I die with 1 hit... no time to pull up a shield. If I keep my shield up at all times, then I cannot do damage to the boss, which makes it an infinite fight. We moved to dedicated servers, but it does not help for boss fights. Increasing the autosave time helps some, but we still have lots of teleport issues... they do not have teleport powers

AriIf you find a casual game so difficult, play it on an easier difficulty. In fact, if you're playing with interest, delving into the game, and leveling up meaningfully, you won't have any real difficulty with something like this. There's simply no difficult boss in the game right now.
If we call Quarrite the most difficult, then all the other bosses should be brought up in difficulty to match it. Why? Because all bosses in the game drop loot of nearly equal value. And considering that legendary weapons require biomass to create, and a license is easy to obtain, we're essentially giving up basic weapons for next to nothing without any effort. Looking at game balance objectively, the Great Hunt bosses should be 3-4 times more difficult. Especially the monkey. And if we're going to do it really smart, then in addition to what's been said, the difficulty should also scale significantly depending on the number of players. -

JookiAs Robert said the boss fight is full of bugs, on top of the boss teleporting, when I do die it will more often than not, not allow me to respawn and I'll have to reload back to the character select screen. I play with my partner and we've lost so much gear on this boss where your gear just vanishes and your dead body quiet often is off map and out of reach or when calling your gear back to the entrance to the bosses lair it just disappears. I get it's hard, its a boss fight I have no problem with that but with so many bugs around this boss, it's just not playable, let alone beatable!

RaphSeraphThis is an interesting fight, but not an overly difficult one. I failed it the first time I tried it. It forced me to understand a lot of game mechanics I had previously been ignorant of, because I was mainly busy with Exotics Extraction and crafting. I got it on the second try.
I do agree that various game shortcomings make it harder than it should be and certainly impossible for some. Those are the issues thst need to be addressed, not the fight itself. For example: The first time I tried it, after I died, the Unstable Quarrite left the instance and destroyed the nearby shelter I had setup as a respawn point, along with all my extra gear.
I know, you will say that is impossible. Well, it is not. It happened.
Lack of optimization is an issue that makes many challenging fights into nightmares. -

Sir RiotHave done this all the bosses on solo on hard mode. You just have to change tactics or ask how to do it. It took me two goes to figure it out the tactics. Do it in easy mode a couple of times before you try it in hard. Once you know how it is really easy. Really. Yes I said easy Really

MartinI found the boss very easy and I play on hard mode. I used the Kinetic Rifle with explosive shells, and the Biotech Maul with 200% damage to armor. I killed him without even using a health elixir. I have since killed him 9 times to 100% the beastiary. With high physical damage resistance it's too easy.
I really liked the boss fight, had a lot of fun! :) I don't think it should be nerfed. -

JPAPlease do not nerf bosses! It was so much fun learning the tactics and finally beating the boss on hardest difficulty.
(If you decide to nerf, set it as an option if possible)

AnonymousI've completed all world bosses, new and old on Hard-Mode. And Solo. I would have to say the Scorpion, Hammer Head Slug and Qaurrite are the most difficult to kill. Not because of actual difficulty, but due to the fact that you actually have to think during combat. Not just point your gun and shoot. They require tactics and strategy. If you think a world boss needs to be nerfed because you can't kill it on the hardest difficulty, than maybe you should reduce the difficulty you're playing on? No need to punish the players who want a bit of a challenge and enjoy playing on Hard-Mode. I would also like to point out, that if you go into that fight knowing the cave worms give you poison damage debuffs, why aren't you using anti poison potions/pills etc? Also, sounds like you went in being not nearly prepared enough for a Boss Fight. And yet you want the Devs to nerf a boss because you failed and didn't bother to prepare enough before hand.

AchanniiI agree with the general sentiment that the boss is not hard at all. If you are having issues a specific part of the fight, there is a counter mechanically or a medicine you should look into using. I've also maxed my bestiary on the Quarrite and I've only done him on hard. I've used a range of different weapons to kill it; some took longer than others, but he always died. The OP complained of worm poison stacks, use a poison pill. They complained about not being able to move because of concussion debuff, use a blood pill or spec the character better(i've never used a blood pill). It sounds like they weren't prepared/didn't pay attention to any of the warnings throughout the campaign. DO NOT NERF.

Arr0naXI am fine with the boss being difficult but there are some things regarding it that should be sorted. Many times during the fight, the boss damages me before I see the animation where he jumps at me. Happened when I fought it on a self-hosted server, happened when I fought it on a G-Portal server.

White FlareJust came to say the part about the cave worms. Me and a friend just took an anti poison pill, and walked around to avoid direct hits from the cave worms and took almost no damage from that phase. They despawn shortly after the Quarrite resurfaces, so its a completely avoidable phase. Don't fight the worms, avoid the worms. Save your ammo and your durability for the boss.
Now as far as his damage, I've found myself 1 tapped from full hp, 3 high end foods, and fully augmented carbon armor. That thing hits like a truck on hard. -

MdvDisagree it should be nerfed, it's the final boss of a campaign, it's supposed to be more difficult than a regular world boss thats just dossing around.
That being said, i've only ever completed the fight on hard-mode, and even then didn't consider it a significant challenge to do solo, it teaches you to be aware of your surroundings, and how the mechanics of the fight are going.
I will happily admit that the final phase is more of a contrivance than anything though, as it's a lot of unavoidable getting bounced around, which could stand to be addressed if anything was going to be- Although a titanium shield does most of the heavy lifting there, so even then the damage isn't totally obnoxious.
overall, the Quarrite is probably the hardest of the three, purely because it takes some actual thought into how you're going to fight it, the gargantuan and the rimetusk are just point and fire without much thought and could stand to be a harder fight overall imo -

LarryAnti poison makes caveworms a non-issue. Final phase is definitely rough tho. Have you tried a shield?

Gportal_bobuse anti poison pills or modules to make poison useless against you. use a shield to help survive the jumping part until he tires out a bit. have heals. quarrite boss is easy- IF you prepare and use what is available to you. if you just slap dps to yourself then you're going to die. Eat food that supports your survivability and not just your damage output. All the damage in the world sucks if you don't survive long enough to use it. You shouldn't have to ask for an easier hard mode. You need to answer for that poison and the jumping phase. The game provides this. Also- stack status affects on him. make sure your team is not running all the same effects. if solo use multiple guns/jav launchers pre loaded with various ammos. Stamina tonic enhancer thingy from chem bench will help a lot with shield blocking. watch your timers. super de duper.
