  There has to be some kind of differentiation for playing solo.
  In my experience, I attempted to go solo BW3 and its impossible. You burn through tons of iron and steel to even stand a chance with guns, thermos and oxygen tank and just the beginning of the arctic is so harsh. You need multiple bases, 4 at least, and all the caves need ladders or you will just die down. It just needs tons of time and if I had a week or more I would do it but in a beta weekend, impossible even with two players.
  
  To differentiate, you can allow transportation with materials from bed to bed for solo players to be able to establish bases. Another idea would be a cheap motorcycle that we can buy from the spaceship (for style). Solo players need quick transportation somehow.

  Agreed. Solo transportation needs attention. I feel like more than 1/3 of my game time is just me running place to place... not fun. Either make certain areas resource rich, or design something for quicker travel. In tier 3, I can make grenades, oxite dissolver, and guns... but my guy doesn't know how to craft and use the WHEEL? lol cave men figured it out... my space man should know too

  With the distances covered in the larger missions to establish a base it would be really nice to be able to either set up a fast travel system using sheltered beds so you can move between bases, or a more immersive solution would be to be able to build a bio fuel quad bike like an agricultural version with carrying capacity

  Echoing the above comments: A running simulator is not fun. Once I reach a certain point (guns), there isn't much threat unless I'm really stupid, it's just time consuming to run from point to point. Maybe we could establish tracks between points that we could then fast travel along.

  I'd like to see another type of pod used to travel from one base to another with a suitable number of slots. The technology is already there. Simply call one from the orbital exchange interface. It may require having an orbital exchange interface at each base or needing to craft a landing platform at each base, etc, but it keeps within the premise of the game .

  It is incredibly infuriating to die while trying to explore and have to walk back 30-40 minutes. Reason #1 I quit the game after being a paid EA user. My friend wanted to check it out, but after seeing this we will pass.

  I like to add my input on this suggestion:
  
  - Only available with the Bed and must be in a shelter (not the Bedroll).
  - Requires a nearby Beacon.
  - Cannot be used in a humid cave (the cave must first be dehumidified).
  - Using Fast Travel forwards time a bit (and reduces the time on positive/negative status effects) as if you'd travelled in real time [if this isn't too difficult to code].

  I think "fast travel" might not be the right approach. Instead of teleporting as such from one place to another, just speed the process up. They have released mounts now and that does make it faster, but I suggest the next level to mounts instead of just teleporting. I saw someone suggest tracks. How about building a primitive cart system. At certain areas where you need to go up hill, you need to place power lines. It needs to be resource intensive for you to want to do it but be rewarding in that it's twice or three times faster than mounts. In Prospects it will make it pretty much pointless unless they add tracks to the Workshop. In an Open World though, you'd want to spend hours building something like that to get around your bases.

  Really need a transporter. Just put crazy restrictions on it and make it a super late-game item. I just want to create multiple bases and be able to jump between them so my animals and fish don't die by the time I get back. Make it require a bunch of advanced batteries, level 60+, and cannot take anything with you...like nothing, anything on you gets destroyed.
  
  As for other methods, sure I would love to see a cart & track system mostly for transporting ore, but maybe as an alternate travel option as well. Create a track system (which I seen already) and let us create mining carts or seater carts. Mining carts for easily sending ore back to the base after a thumper session or a sitting cart that is super fast based on how much we weigh.

  I'd add +100 to this if I could.
  Running back and forth even on Moa is not fun at all. It is not about challenge or something, it is just about respect of player's time. Well, the game push us to explore, build extractor on far veins and so on. But then after some times it turns into bloody routine to run around the map and collect ores from extractors.
  Plus absence of fast travel makes absolutely painful building other bases and reaching far corners of the map. I would like to have another small camp in desert or in the snow, but then I think about the travel between them which will take 30 minutes of my real time and say "well nope, I'd better play Enshrouded"

  YAS PLZ, much needed!! It would allow so much more exploring, building and developing areas.
  Could be something like a sleep cycle fade with running time based on distance, travel dependable on "travel setups", like only towards a beacon, either with animal ride + "travel saddle", or a "travel backpack" + some specific resources, or a suit module or Workshop/Tier 4 Teleport device that requires encrypted network terminal. It would be great to have a range of low tech to high tech travel setups, to allow further exploring even at early stages and lower tech play styles.

  Id love a craftable launch pad that is super expensive that you build at each base so u can just travel between bases with your ship. Would cost fuel or something each time you launch or exotics

  I would think a tier 4 unlock transport pad or a launch pod for short travels to prepared pads that need 2-4 biofuel cans per launch or uses the portable biofuel tank as a fuel source would be a correct implementation but it needs downsides, maybe it has a 15%-30% chance of crashing in a random location with the pod destroyed and needs rebuilding. maybe you are only allowed 1 per instance as a 1 seater and need to wait for it to be summoned but won't move to you if there is no fuel, maybe a weight limit and cannot be over-encumbered and has only 4 interior slots, mainly for fuel storage for multi launches but works against you in launches if full because weight. Lets take the last one further, maybe you have to be empty in backpack and only take things that are slotted in envirosuit and armor slots, pure transport, no baggage, no mission cheesing from taking something from southern artic to rivers in a fingersnap. TDLR; a pod that can move you from base to base but that's it, just you.

  Some existing missions have the premise that your building a base for some particular use, or scan an area for drop pods. I'd be cool if we could do some sort of scan or something, fight off some waves, and be able to make a platform of some sort, and/or craft a special pod (with late game materials or even exotics) to fast travel to/from.
  
  Honestly I'd be content with it only allowing items we drop with from space. Getting from one end of the map to the other is primarily what's needed. Building a base at another awesome spot we find inspiration for is what i play for. To get to and from those base's after there built without running from one end of the map to the other, or just having a bunch of different open world maps, would be much much appreciated.

  Yeah some sort of pods to craft to make a surface to surface hop/jump - or even use the normal landing-pod and craft some landing-pads where you can call it to or send it to (with you onboard). The jump could even use some sort of fuel (even a couple of excotics maybe).
  That also would make it possible to "park" the landing-pods on a designated spot and not just near somewhere with the recall grenades :)

  I think the long periods of boring travel (even with the moa) just feel like a pointless time sink. Especially when trying to complete quests, it feels bad.
  
  I'd accept any kind of fast travel, build a base with a teleporter, auto running between bases (with time passage), an orbital drop pod that can return to where I was, anything.

  Tier 4 should have access to fast travel. Make it expensive, make it have cooldown idc. Maybe some kind of one time use makeshift surface-sky-surface pod.

  In open world, I spend more than half of my time to travel, even with a moa lvl 40 and food. I becomes boring (and hurt my wrist to have to keep my forward key always pressed !). As I have 8 bases (4 main bases with T4 craft capabilities), It could be nice to add a transport pod using a specific base craft (like the escape pod) using huge amount of fuel and materials. The transport should be expensive and refuel not instant to avoid to travel all the time by this way (a cool down effect).
  I'm finishing the operations, and it become a real boring time sink to reach objectives points on the map. First you are glad to travel and discover the map, but at the end it's so tiresome to travel again and again often throw the same paths.

  It would be nice if the player had the ability to create their own shortcuts (for example, a zip line (unlockable through missions to build a main fortified tower with 20+ floors, or something like that) It would also be great if there were places for Shinotai shuttles to drop into (like in the Styx, in the "whirlpool" branch of the game) Just for convenience, or to create a convenient landing spot on the roof of a house or near a base. It's a simple convenience.

  Playing Openworld and building a lasting base is feels very immersive and engaging.
  Yet, at times icarus feels like a walkingsimulator. It would be pretty neat to able to build an outpost in another biom and to be able to fast travel between it and your homebase.
  Portals dont really seam to be fitting, but using the landing capsule to fast travel once you´ve reached rank 4 seems to be good solution. It is already possible to call it, why not build on this ?
  An alternative would be to add flight, for example with an jetpack, fueled with bio fuel or loaded with electricity. This would make traveling between bioms much easier and safe a lot of time.
  
  Right now open world feels more like an open Biom, since for the most part, running around for 30 minutes does not seem to be worth the reward.

  I love the game, and for me, it only has one flaw: the missions are too far apart, and sometimes it takes forever to complete them just because we walk around the map too much. How about some kind of fast travel? For example, when we reach level 40 or 50, we could use a probe that transports us to a known location on the map. Sometimes, having to go back and forth so far becomes very tiring

  I really have to agree with some Steam reviews that the game really needs an overhaul regarding GPU/memory optimization. I think that's currently the biggest problem for this wonderful game. After fixing the bugs from the last DLC as much as possible, optimization should be a top priority for this game. Furthermore, a recurring suggestion, especially for the endgame, is "fast travel." I really agree that after exploring everything the first 5-6 times, repeating paths just gets tiring. If something like portals sounds too out of place for futuristic alien worlds, perhaps getting into a small spaceship and choosing where to land in a 2-second animation might seem more appropriate.

  I have been playing Icarus from almost the beginning. My main character is lvl 60 with over 71,000,000 exp, I have some serious time in game. I loved the Outpost upgrade, in the beginning it was getting old building up a new camp and then starting from scratch on the next go around.
  So since the Outpost update I have spent considerable time building large outposts/camps across the maps in Olympus, Styx, Promethius and now Elysium. And I have spent hour slogging back and forth across the map going between the different camps. As someone else posted, at times Icarus is like a jogging simulator. A method of quickly traveling between the different camps would be greatly appreciated. I did find the Iaanp mod called Iaanp-PetesBeaconTeleport that allows this functionality but I am not a big fan of mods. However, I'm not getting any younger and this saves me some time and allows me to spend more time playing and less time running about. But I would really prefer an in-game solution.

  It would be fantastic if you could implement an option that allows you to travel to other maps within the same game. I know that technically, doing something like this is a huge challenge, but I would love to see it implemented in the near future. It would be epic to be able to go to another map with your favorite animal, keeping your armor set and items in your inventory. It would give the feeling that you're playing the game with all its content, and that all the maps are connected. Thank you so much.
