[Suggestion] Bullets cost too much
I don't see how it takes a whole bar of metal to make one bullet/shell. These should produce 5 or 10 packs of bullets.

Lyon Tan MergedPersonally I think 1 iron ingot to make 1x rifle round is too much. Allow making of empty rifle round of about 10 rounds to 1 ingot and thereafter combine with gunpowder to make rifle rounds.
On the same point, allow 1x ingot to make multiple arrowheads instead. -

TerryAgree. An ingot is large (I use to work at a smelter, I know!), the cost of bullets is just stupidly out of proportion. Same for the amount of sulphur etc to produce the gunpowder. Think realistically how much an ore of sulphur gives you, vs the amount it takes to produce 1 unit of gunpowder. Its just so unrealistic is silly.

ArroBastI agree. One iron ingot in game is .25kg or 250 grams, one 7.62x63mm (30-06) bullet only weighs 14 grams if I am reading wikipedia correctly. So, even if we are making the case out of the same iron ingot, like 200 grams of iron are just vaporizing every time we make a bullet. It would be nice if we could get 5 or 10 bullets out of each ingot instead. Or add a copper ingot to the recipe and give us 15 to 20 per.

MatchPlease reduce the cost for bullets (or increase the yield, so that one iron ingot makes 3-5 bullets, same with copper and buckshot).

Merl-Lynn1 iron is to much for one bullet. But to balance, I would like to see 1 iron and 5 gun powder to make 10 or 5 bullets.

john bournous Mergedbullets so what we love about games like this is how realistic it is i get that we cant i have 1 iron bar making 50 bullets but why don't you put it so it makes maybe 2-3 bullets at once especially for the shells

JohnThink is you need so many ingots for everything, 6 for a basic pickaxe, 12 for the plat. I think its fair to think these ingots are smaller than normal. The real question is if its fair how many bullets you can make from a single node of iron and thats around 15 or so an with how strong bullets are thats probably fair.
Eaiser way to reblanance it is to simply make it something like 2 ingots and 2 gunpowder for 3 bullets as a single craft. 6 powder for shotgun vs 1 for rifle seems strange esp since that rifle round seems to do more damage. -

StormfuryI agree with this but sadly arrows are even worse. Like 5x more expensive in some cases

Sosaso still infinite bullets he... broke the game on metal and steal because of it, we made couple of thousands bullets with the perk for free. You can break these down for metal and gp for ever. We reported the bug but cannot find the report any where now.

AlexThis is one of the biggest obstacles to making the game fun as opposed to grindy. Grinding ressources for ammo is unfun and boring. It's fine for the rifle itself to be expensive. But the Ammo shouldnt be. Same goes for Arrows.
Arrows above Bone are straight up not worth making. -

LexaTotally agree with the OP. Even at lvl 55 with tier 4 everything unlocked I still use the longbow and bone arrows most of the time because gun ammo is too expensive to make. One iron bar for one bullet? Hell no.
Btw:
You can make 100 steel screws out of one steel bar.
So you should make at least 10 rounds from one iron resp. copper bar. -

CyclloidIn general, though this game is fiction, it should still maintain relative proportions.
So if a rifle round (fits in palm of hand) take one iron, but then the bolt action rifle that shoots it is 120 iron (40 steel @ 3 iron/steel), the rifle isn't a 120 times bigger than the round.
Or the bio-fuel composter, a big metal barrel, is 28 metal (20 iron, 8 copper), but 28 bullets worth of metal would maybe cover a quarter?half? the container.
The game should take the item that uses the smallest unit of a particular resource, then proportionally set resource requirements by relative size, then set resource node rarity to meet the desired difficulty to achieve different tiers. -

ErwinBI think 1 iron + 1 copper ingots could be a great balance for a 5-10 pack of bullets. That could make you think twice before using all the copper to craft bullets while other player is trying to reach Tier 4 stations.

Theodore BendonThis is a good Idea for QOL Improvement. Real Bullets would be far more Efficient, especially since it would Realistically take about 50 Rounds to use up an Ingot for 7.62 Rounds. Maybe there could also be an Improved 7.62 Armor-Piercing Round Made From Steel that could be Useful against Polar Bears. Also, some 12-gauge Slug Rounds should be able to One-shot or Two-shot Polar Bears. Improved Rounds could be a new set of Blueprints, possibly including more types to allow for more Situations, like with the Wolf Packs that get involved when Fighting a Boss. Also, Sniper Scopes and other Sights, like Ghost Ring Sights for the Shotgun, and some sort of Basic Reflex Sight would be Useful for Longer-range or Quick-draw CQB Shooting. The Sights should be part of the Attachment Benches, likely the Advanced Attachment Bench. Also see my recommendations for dealing with the 9mm Pistol QOL Issue for ideas to merge with these.

WindWraithWhat Theodore Bendon said! I would like to see a LOGICAL assortment of ammo as well as a USEFUL selection of augments for firearms. It just amazes me there isnt a scope for each rifle. Outlining an animal is just stupid. Seriously. Whose idea was that? Ghost rings would be the bomb for the shotgun. I would be willing to have a crazy crafting cost for a round that did crazy damage. But that being said.... they do crazy damage already. IMO.

MelleArrows consume too much as well. One ingot for one arrow, wtf. Sorry for the cussing but this can't be true. At least let a ingot be sufficient for 5-10 shots or 5-10 arrows/bolts.

SeanI agree. I would love to see metal stretch a little further in the creation of ammo and arrows. I'd be happy to see a handloading bench or add-on to a bench which converts 1 ingot into say 5-10 casings, then 1 casing + 1 gunpowder makes 1 bullet or something like that.
