[Suggestion] Locks in doors and crates
Allow for players to lock their houses or boxes/chests so that other players in multiplayer cannot come in and steal/barrow items without permission.

This is an excellent idea, especially if public games ever become a reality. Personally I'd settle for a system similar to ARKs Pin Codes, e.g. Owners get instant access everyone else needs to supply an (optional) Pin Code to unlock the chest/door. Failing that maybe allow us to craft keys and locks (Similar to Wurm Online/Wurm Unlimited - where you craft a pair and they're only good for each other), that way we can have a more "Immersive" version of locking (e.g. Keys would give guests access to chests/doors that had padlocks on them) -

NyschAlthough in Hindsight some disadvantages might be found in the fact that players could just bash your structures to begin with.

DarklandzWell when dedicated server get released we would like to open a server to the public and yes to avoid griefing/stealing it would be nice to have some locks for door and chests. like a metal padlock as low tier aand maybe a electronic number codelock as high tier.
Players bashing structures could be solved by having a dedicated server setting that players can not damage player made structures. -

Ewen MergedAn item you can add to a chest or cupboard that if tier 4 can only allow specific people to open it, or if it’s tier 2 it would require you to find the key that’s bonded to it (if the key is lost or decayed, the lock will be unlocked and waiting for another key to be bonded with it

EwenMaybe have people make an object in tier 4 that can make it so other players can’t break or replace your house and can be assigned to specific players so only they can do stuff with the base or even assigning specific doors, chests, and areas to build/break

SignorodPlease add the lock in multiplayer mode. Also some players do not respect and do not team up and break and damage structure,door and wall and this is so annoying. this situation is PVP, if Icarus is PVE game, so this problems should be fixed. Thanks Dev Team

Marcthere needs to be base protection from other players and be able to friend others if you want to give access, dont let others remove your walls or take your equipment, This is a great game but make multiplayer better.

MikeAlthough this game is PVE with open servers you will inevitably get PVP. Having lockable abilities or something similar to Valheim where you placed a totem that protected your house from other players (they can't open your door or damage your buildings). I'm also open to PVP in Icarus where it is competing prospectors...might make for a fun mission in the future...

Sephora Mergedlockabable doors/storage/machines that aren't able to be destroyed by someone else to prevent constant base raiding on dedicated servers so players are NOT forced to lock their servers. unlocked servers are great for community and meeting new players but they are plagued by trolls coming in and killing peoples animals and stealing all their stuff.

KimberlyWe need this badly. As an admin, anyone can go in my base when I am offline and take what they want or even blow my base up. Please make some admin rules so people can't do this. Thanks.

RustyLHThis is the most needed update to Open World. Without it, we have no choice but to deny access to our servers, to anyone we don't know and trust. It removes the ability to make Open World a social event.

CreepSpiritsCan you guys please add locks? its really killing the game not being able to lock things its pointless to play online whit other people that you dont even kwon also it makes you play offline or alone because of the problem not being able to lock things also its impossible to tur your own server into pvp because again you cant lock things up and if you add locks witch i hope so also add some kind of system where you have to get some kind of weapon or c4 things like that in order to brake peoples locks to get in their bases things like that if you guys change this kind of things i think people more people will join the game and also if you join somebodys server to not be able to see people on the map or give the choice to turn on or off to see people on the map.

LTCPlease add this feature. It's getting to a point where I am afraid to be offline for too long cause I'm afraid people are stealing my goodies. And I play on a private dedicated server with people I know and are supposed to be trusted friends! Just never know!

xWynt3rAs we already have a comparable system in place with the Access List for Mounts (For Food and Water Troughs), we could maybe port that work and idea over to the various storage elements when on a dedicated or multiplayer server. One caveat: in the case of alts, make all "On Prospect" characters show up in the access control list, or do the controls on the account level.

Mark Anthony Vella MergedThis game is great but altough it is pve once a player goes nuts he can dismalte your base, loot all our stuff and kill all your animals. Currently I am abandoning the game until this feature is implemented as I cannot waste more time on servers that let you grid for hours being friendly and then start looting you and griefing you.
Player specific builds need to have a dismantiling off turn off for other players.
Door/Storage needs locks
Ablity to turn FF on or off for animals. -

jason Mergedhave locks on doors, crates and deployables maybe types of teir type locks and some deployables may not be able to lock this would be helpful for multi and coop play i had a somewhat freind i played on rust me and him started a game he had his brother join us when we played i went out to do a mission came back and lots of my stuff was missing thought it was a glitch but found out it was his brother he took all our stuff and tossd it all over the ground over the map so they despawned cuz he was mad at his broth this would prevent that
