[Suggestion] Prestige Mechanism
I would mind when max level, be able to prestige my character.
It resets my level to 1. It gave "golden blueprint point" for each reset it unlock forever the blueprint.
It give me some free bonus talent point. (No need to make a talent reset feature, because you just need to grind some prestige level in order to earn more talent point).
It unlock achievement. We could have better gear in market because of our "expertise / experience". When thus allowing you, developers, to make the game "harder".
Anyway, that's just an idea.

Snoochy42 MergedOnce a player hits level 40, they could have a button at the space station to "Reset for Promotion" as on option. Upon clicking, it would set the player back to level 1 and increase their Rank by 1. For each Rank you have been promoted, you start with a set number of additional talent and recipe points (3 and 5s?). This would also "reset" the players Talents, effectively being a Respec, that they had to earn by hitting level 40. I feel this would be a relatively balanced means of rewarding players for playing well past level 40 and would in total reward then about 15 talent points by the time they are able to complete every mission currently available once each. This also would benefit Solo or Group players evenly, as apposed to requiring Station Currency to buy a respec, which would be a lot harder for solo players. This could also promote players to remain active for an extensive amount of time and trying new Talent Builds along the way while not completely breaking specializations.

Cipher 8 MergedI personally hate prestige in Call of Duty much preferring the old Rainbow Six Vegas system of taking a long time to reach Elite rank but this is not a FPS shooter and I think a prestige system could work good in Icarus.
I also think though anybody that's leveled 40+ will eventually get talent points/bp points when they added further tech tiers and talent trees in Chapter 2 and beyond. -

Kennechu MergedI am currently level 43 and have barely progressed into the first missions for the Arctic and Desert, completing one of each branch respectively. I feel like I am slightly penalized for playing how I do, because now I have no progression beyond blueprint points at this level. I would -love- to see something like this implemented so I can feel fresh in playing the same character and not feel like I am losing all progression for simply taking my time and enjoying the game on each prospect.

Cipher 8 Merged"This also would benefit Solo or Group players evenly, as apposed to requiring Station Currency to buy a respec, which would be a lot harder for solo players."
The farming of currency by repeatedly completing the Strange Harvest: Bio-Research mission makes it so a respec costing currency is not harder by solo players. I guess one could argue it's faster when you got 3 people each going to one then returning to character select menu and leave mission from there to auto completed and you get the currency rewards. You don't even have to run back to the dropship. And yes I'm aware that they lowered the rewards from 100 to 50. I actually suggested they further address it https://icarus.featureupvote.com/suggestions/257780/balancing-bioresearch-missions-cooldown
Respec Option Confirmation 😮💨 you can all sigh in relief now

Alex MergedWhile the idea, that you could potentially get more talent points in the end sounds good, and starting from scratch again to do so doesn't bother me, I want to mention that levels 1-40 need a lot less exp than the subsequent levels, so, doing so 2 times, doesn't equal doing 1-80.
I hit level 31 while not even trying hard to exp or whatever and am barely doing the prospect to unlock the Arctic zone.
I would do it more like this.
Max level still 99. You get Talent points only until 40. You always get Tech points until level 99.
At level 40, or any level after that, you can maybe buy with some Rocketbucks and Exotics something like Special Training, or whatever.
That would reset you to level 1 but this time around you can get Talent points until level 45 or something balanced and worthwhile.
When you get to level 45 this time you can purchase even more training to get Talent Points until level 50.
Maybe each time you do this, you can keep a few Tech points, again, something balanced. -

Meckle MergedNot a fan, I would prefer exotics for this conversion only. Prestige does not make sense in the terms of this game.
-

Serhokyan MergedI agree with Meckle. Exotic conversion sounds like the best deal we can get.
There could be a skill tree system in which the skills are unlockable with the exotics. -

Multiversal MergedWe really need Prestige type levels, Harder missions, Boosted stats on hardcore creatures.
Prestige levels just to have an easy progression meter to help record the exp progression we already gain per character. Harder missions or extreme missions after hardcore for people who want to feel the fear that a prospector should feel in this situation. That or just an Easy, Normal, Hard difficulty with reward bonus modifiers.
Prestige type levels would be great, I think having any type of extra levels adds easy progression to a game, and would keep a person like me hooked just to attain a higher level.
I feel like extreme missions could have the increased values already added to the game, this would be for instance 60% increase to the HP of creatures, and 30% increased damage. ( I know some people are of the opinion that creatures in the game are hard )
There is already a challenge to the game and I'm sure there is more to come, I just didn't know if any of this was already out -

Almighty MergedI agree with this 100%, I can dang near kill a bear just as easy on a hardcore mission, as I can kill one on the easy missions (with the knife only).
would be nice if the farther you progress through the mission tree the harder the missions get. even if there was a limited amount of times you can drop with the items from the workshop, would give other players like me more of a reason to go beyond the leveling and work towards getting more Exotics and other in game currencies.
to keep people from looking up where all the exotic nodes are online, make like 100 or so random spawn locations through out the map and change them every other update.
new-ish game I understand that, but I'm sure a lot of people will get bored if there isn't much risk of player death in the game.
I am looking forward to new and better stuff to come from updates. -

Birdman_D MergedI'll be honest: I'm bored with my 3 lvl 50 characters. I like their stats, and they can accomplish great things in the missions, but I wonder what I am missing out in other builds. Sure, you're thinking "Well, delete a character then", and you would be right, but then I ask you, "if you built a $1million home, would you destroy it just to build another one, without trying to sell it first?" So I ask the devs this suggestion: As a form of "Prestige", let us "retire" our characters for $1000/ren. Lore wise one could say that character is returning to Earth to convince more people to join the First Cohorts and help survey/reveal the mysteries of Icarus, or share their experience for this lump sum of cash. Prevents players from suffering growthless burnout, varies builds, and rewards players with time spent in game.

Kirashimu Reiyomi MergedI thought it would be awesome if you could obtain everything from the skilltree, But there is a level cap. So here's my idea! What if, Once you reach the level cap you get an option to "Prestige". This will take all blueprints you've learned and reset them and turn your level back to 1 but keep enemy levels the same, With the same xp costs as max level but they get higher. But in turn anything on the skilltree is kept so you can get more through these prestige levels to add on and keep building up This will make it progressively more difficult to level up, But worth the grind to reach that prestige status. With the xp still increasing after prestiging it should balance it out and make it so you don't have as easy of a time. And the idea of enemy levels staying the same is too make the enemies progressively more difficult!!! Whatcha think?

Teldae MergedI don't understand what you're trying to suggest. When you say "skilltree" do you mean blueprints or talents? Currently after you reach the level cap, you can keep gaining 'levels' which reward blueprint points, so you can eventually unlock all blueprints. The talents are locked at a maximum value, and there are suggestions already open on updating the available points or additional talent rewards.

TheShadowKnivesVery much agree about wanting a way to prestige/"reset" my character in order to try out different builds and eventually, after prestiging many times, could have enough talent points to unlock everything. I hit lvl 60 cap and there are tons of talents I haven't unlocked, huge chunks of features in the game I haven't experienced yet. I want it all! :)

MajorLagun MergedA system with a long-term game system in which all of your characters are listed in a kind of family tree. With insight into individual people's achievements.
Even characters who died irrevocably.
The player writes the stories and tasks of his own house himself.
It is comparable to groups from the Game of Thrones series with the houses.
You could then add a kind of prestige system for your own group, which increases across all characters over the long-term course of the game.
Characters that you no longer want in the operations team (because character slots are full) could be allowed to work in the background in the space station instead of deleting them in management tasks. For example as a mechanic.
There doesn't necessarily have to be a game mechanic behind it that improves something or something like that. It would add to the story and help immersion.
Then unlock prestige points for special missions or other new things. -

JB MergedCan we please have additional level ups for our character. Even after reaching level 60 the player continues to level up and receive experience points, so essentially, these extra levels should be shown. There is nothing more gratifying to a player than to see a progression of their character, especially level numbers, items, inventory, awards, badges, etc. To limit the level progression does this game an injustice. I have been creating my own survival game for a while now and have a few suggestions I would like to see and believe this game could benefit from.
The use of a ranking system for all players. Level 60, they achieve the rank of ‘Veteran’. Players can continue to level up to level 100, giving them another rank title, then 150, 200, 250, and then 300 where they receive the rank of ‘Elite’. This still should not be the limit of a players level cap. You could implement a rank of Elite +1, Elite +2, etc, for every additional level thereafter. This would serve multiple purposes. -
15 Jan, '24
JB MergedCould we have a public leaderboard for all players reaching the rank of ‘Elite’, if implemented. There does not need to be any additional rewards offered to the players for these additional level ups, although it would only add further value to the game, but the best players and longest contributing players would feel a greater sense of appreciation and value to the Icarus community with the ability to stand out amongst the crowd. If every player had a rank of level 60, how do you differentiate those longest serving players from the rest?
