[Suggestion] More Talent Points after level 40
Seriously? I hit level 41 and was excited for yet another talent point, yet I was given none. After some looking around, I discovered that it's the cap. Why?! There are hundreds of talents in this game, and you're only given like 48? There's no good reason for you to do that, and now the only sense of progression I was really feeling for this game is gone. You gotta change this.

Barkartum MergedI just hit 42 and noticed I did not get any talent points for 41 and 42.

Jesse White MergedAfter level 40 you stop earning talent points. After 3 days of the game I feel that I have hardly progressed the talent trees. I understand you should not be able to max everything. Levelling up needs to be the longevity of the game, since you reach the fabricator at level 30 which you can get to in a day.

Gropag MergedPlease, implement some soft-cap for talent points. Like after 40 lvl you will got 1 TP every 2 lvls, after 60 - 1 every 3 lvls etc. Character progression will be more meaningful

Christopher j Bennington MergedThere doesn't seem to be even a slight of talent points and blueprint points to be able to play around with all the different skills and craftable items

Nutrii MergedLevel 40 still feels bad for talent unlocks. With a respec it might feel better, but a lot of things I valued on my first character well going through just don't hold up now that I have more game knowledge. I had to restart a character because cheaper thatch just isn't good when you could have an extra 10% damage with bows.

WEZZ MergedI'm level 41 on 31 hours, and i'm just at the beginning of the game, i'm okay with u i u think i try hard a bit much the game at 3 day to lunch. But a normal gamer going to be 41 in one week or two maximum. And is the probleme, i'm already cap on talent point? I'm JUST on the third scan mission ( desert ) and i cant improve anymore? Its very very frustrating, and lose motivation for us ... I spent all this hours because I LOVE this game ! and the game lock me for that ? Please please, let us improve more .. I play SOLO , so i NEED TALENT POINT ! i choose to play solo because i love survival game solo. But i'm punish for that? punish for love this game? please let us evolve and love this game more ... i'm just on BEGINNING mission and already my adventure is locked .. I have already this bad sentiment to not improve on the game .. Let us love en play this game <3 Please.

Evangelyne MergedIt will give Bluepoint points, but not talents. Also gaining only 1 talent per lvl is soo gimping. Can only do like two trees and the fact that on my second mission when I was lvl 10 I ran into a lvl 53 bear is ridiculous.

Darkskynight Mergedcurrent total of talent points in game is (48) when you compare that to the full talent trees total (440) that comes out to each player having less than 10%. This ends up feeling that you will not have enough. an example would be that with some trees you physically don't even have enough points to max 1 tree.
Suggestion: increase the point cap up to 15% - 22.5%, (66-99 total points)
theres still fair space for many different builds it just allows players a bit more choice, in upgrading areas. This could be done in a number of ways:
1. just add more talent points to each level, or more on each 5, 10 levels
2. Allow further progression of talent points past level 40
3. Add ways to get extra talent points these could also come in a few ways
- some later level missions could give 1 talent point on the first (only first) completion
- some of the achievements, mine 50k iron, kill 10k bears, etc. could hand out 1 skill point.
This way players that put in the time get a little -

Just Peace MergedOver 400 talent, but we can only choice about 10% of them, Please consider to add more talent point then
-
07 Dec, '21
Crazydaze MergedI'd be okay with 1 talent every 2 levels after 40. This way you can learn atleast 3 or so trees.
-
07 Dec, '21
Geze MergedWait. Is this after the patch on the 7th? What is the point of the level cap increase then? To be able to unlock the entire blueprint tree? But it is the talents that is the biggest problem.
You essentially HAVE to spec to the 1 weapon tree that you choose and can barely do ANY utility talents...
Why the level cap increase? =S -

Gh0straider MergedI didn't get any Talent points at all past level 40
-

DRG197 MergedStrongly agree, not enough talent points, need more to balance out for solo, small group play.
-
08 Dec, '21
RamenDaBongLord MergedLeveling past 35+ does not give you anymore talents and only blueprints.
So far I've gotten to level 47 and every time I've leveled, I would receive blue prints only and no talents. -

WEZZ MergedAGREE ! let us making progress as long we level up. Its just logic.
And i hear guyz says " nianiania the game is for specialization nianiania u cant had all of the talent tree"
Its because these guyz play on group.
For the solo Player like me, wtf specialization? we cant combine with an other specialization player?
I dont say here " i want to be catch all the talent tree"
But just, imo, we need much more talent point.
We can take what, 10/15% of the talent?
Its really frustrated.
AND the second thing is, we love this game, we love play, but pass the level 40, ur making progresse experience is gone.

Reava_ MergedWe still get tech points past level 40, but absolutely no talent points, when there's muuuch more talents to unlock than tech.
-
08 Dec, '21
Nyx MergedAgree. There aren't near enough talent points. Even playing with a group feels bad with the little amount of talents you get. It feels like you can spec really well into one thing but then you're missing out on so much other stuff and to me that doesn't feel good. Alternatively you can midly spec into a lot of stuff and it's "ok" but doesn't feel satisfying. I've also had to waste talent points in stuff I don't want at all to get to something I really want leaving me without talents for things I do want. Overall I feel like it needs some work. I don't mean for this to sound like a gripe, just that it needs work. It makes the game almost unplayable in some ways, such as the building. The sheer amount of materials it takes if you don't spec into those talents to reduce cost makes you not even wanna try to build anything above stone. I made the mistake of not using those and I'm not sure how much it helps, but not having it feels bad for buildings that would help in the arctic.

Lyunchan MergedIn the game there are 426 Talent (+25 for solo mode) and we can unlock only 44 of them cause after lvl 40 we don't get any Talent Point.
Can u increase this talent point limit please?
Unlock only the 10% of talent have no sense!!! -
08 Dec, '21
Bill Bodang MergedTotally disagree. Give too many talent points and you lose all build diversity. What’s the point of having 1 character who can do everything? I don’t get why the level cap was increased, but we don’t need more talent points. Making decisions about what your character is and isn’t good at is part of the fun
-
08 Dec, '21
Baud MergedAs always Solo players have a WAY harder time than playing even in a small group.
You guys HAVE to address this more or otherwise it will be extremely frustrating to progress through the missions.
Like how do you expect a solo player to defend against a Polar Bear let alone two....can't be done! -
08 Dec, '21
Christopher MergedI understand having a set amount of talent points, HOWEVER being capped at level 40 is Insane! You ONLY HAVE 48 TOTAL talent points and yet we have 11 Skill trees we can go down 12 if you count SOLO, and we are supposed to somehow create a build without being able to respec with a insufficient amount of points available. I just dont see how capping talents at lvl 40 is a good idea.
-
08 Dec, '21
PardiGuy MergedWe need MORE!!
-
08 Dec, '21
Zach K MergedI like the idea of decreasing the talent point gain, but not removing it after at a certain level. 1 point every 2 levels between 30-40 and then 1 point every 4 levels or something.
-
08 Dec, '21
Grym MergedMy crew and I talk about this a lot as well. I mean, even a single point every other level would be great.
-
09 Dec, '21
Emperorpocky MergedAlternatively, create separate talent points for combat, exploration, crafting, and solo. Cap it out at a reasonable level as you have done now, but more talent points overall to where a player can spec into a specific combat style, a specific type of crafting/construction, a specific type of exploration/harvesting/hunting, and separating out solo points. This way the player doesn't have to struggle to choose as hard between quality of life and being able to deal with combat.

Zero MergedI’m level 48 and sometimes when I log in, or respawn after death, I get a message that says ‘+1 talent point’ but when I pull up the talent tree there is 0. I’ll try to capture a screen shot the next time it happens.

flynn Mergedhaving so little skill points gives me no reason to play the game i enjoy the grind i maxed out my profile in 3 days
-
09 Dec, '21
Lasciar MergedI would say adding points up untill lvl 50 would be a great addition. It gives you 12 more points, making it a lot easier to make a complete build. Lvl 40 feels like you can't make a certain type of character. (builder, hunter, gatherer etc.)
-
09 Dec, '21
Jaysun MergedI honestly believe that if it were split like 30/30/30 for each tree.. that would give enough to be good in certain areas.. and still give enough 'choic' to be like darn.. i want this.. but i want to get this
-

VOKEL82 MergedIf cutting off Talent Points at Level 40, allow for additional Talent Points to be gained via Accolades.
-
09 Dec, '21
Sgt.Meowenstein Mergedmaybe via accolades, or at a reduced rate, like one talent every two levels, or one every five levels, give us something to strive for. As it stands right now, i really don't feel the point in playing past 40. we get blueprint points at a reduced rate it seems, so why not accolades?!
-
09 Dec, '21
Sgt.Meowenstein MergedPlease make it so that we get more talents past 40. There is SO much we can learn, yet 59 of our 99 levels don't credit us with the means to learn such things. Make it so that we only get an accolade every two levels please
-
09 Dec, '21
Mushroom MergedYou could add respec but I think for solo players there should be an extra difficulty and the addition of more talent points. The game is currently way too easy.
-

McPunchins MergedI went through every talent tree and put together a spreadsheet to determine how many talents there are in every tree and overall. According to my calculation there are 437 Talents to choose from (462 if you include solo). The current maximum count of talent points to my knowledge is 48, that means you can take roughly 11% of the talents available not taking into account needing to invest into talents for access to other ones you might want (like Polar Bear Armor if that is your thing). This also means you can't invest in more than a single tree given that some of the trees have more than 48 talents total in them. People don't have this kind of foresight and requiring them to basically plan out every character down to the level seems like a bad user experience. Honestly I don't see a reason that someone who grinds to max level shouldn't be able to get every talent given this is a PvE game. Unless you plan to make a PvP mode at some point this seems like an unnecessary roadblock.

McPunchins MergedHere is a link to the google sheet containing the spread of all of the talent trees: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1rgrrZoNrUw7-DMh7ZlmEyXtDmLv-kXhdbV-sGtSq25Q/edit?usp=sharing
A good example of talents locked behind large costs other than Polar Bear Armor (since that only takes 5 points minimum given you can just rush down the tree to it) is the Repair Bench which requires 13 points invested in Repairing. Those 13 points likely include multiple firewacker talents which probably becomes useless when you can easily make extinguishers or have stone/concrete buildings later on and are wasted. -

JazzyJeff MergedI was going to say about the same. Especially when they recently increased the level cap. What's the point of continued leveling if all progression stops at level 40? What's the point of designing so many different skills and trees if you can't use 90% of it. If the point is to make new characters to level up and try new builds, it's still not a good incentive at all to do so. There's not going to be any noticeable change in the overall gameplay no matter what talents you pick. And when the gameplay loop is the same for every character, what's the point of making more? It's still going to be overall the same, just with some slight changes, like run 10% faster and do more damage with bows instead of knifes this time. All it is right now is that we are presented with so many possibilities for interesting and fun builds, but are told "No, you can't do that because all character progress stops halfway through the game." We don't need to be able to max everything, but at least give us half.

Hades MergedI believe that this would help the longevity of the game, I was excited to spec into the mining aspect of the tree, after getting to 40 as I spent most of on the food prep and farming tree, as I play in a team of four. At level 41 I didn't get a talent perk and was confused, after research and finding the cap is 40. I felt like I wasted the perks up to that point, If there was an indication of a limit to start that would have been great as I would have made more decisive choices. More levels would help me want to continue the grind to get more and play more missions as I have something to work for.

Nadeau Benoit MergedAt 40 we barely have the necessary to cover most aspects of talent. Its especially critical for people playing alone or in duo because we cannot really specialize ourselves.
-

Evgeniy MergedGood afternoon, please make an extension of the talent branch. Too few talent points drop out! After the 40th level, they stop giving out points, the game and pumping loses its meaning.
-

Alexander MergedIve been playing this game for a while now and are currently close to level 50 in game. But ive noticed the other day that somewhere around level 35-40 when you level up you dont get more talent points. You get tech points for every level you pass. But i havent got talent points for about 10-15 levels now. Is this the idea or is the/my game bugged?
-
10 Dec, '21
DieEnergy MergedIt would be nice if there was a button that you can use to reset your talent points. If you accidentally set a talent point incorrectly, this cannot be reversed. That means you have to delete your character and start over!
Furthermore, it would be nice if there are talent points in the higher LvL. As far as I know, there are a maximum of 30 to 40 talent points. A friend of mine is at LvL 80 and said to me that it is really bad that you don't get any talent points from LvL 40, so you sometimes don't even get a skill tree filled. If you play alone, you need almost all of the talent points in the solo skill tree and can then only get a quarter to half of the other skill trees. -

cha Mergedsometimes wood pieces goes through floor ... please fix?
No talent after lvl 40 :o , i've maxed out the bow talent and thats it ! we need more talent points, at least 1 full for fighting and one full for gathering, maybe one full for construction or survival too.
and/or respect talents
and talents need to apply to purchased items otherwise my talents are useless! -
10 Dec, '21
madmax1993 MergedI feel like since max level is 99, we should get talent points up untill 99. Some stuff is locked behind talent points so to only give us up to 40 is not enough.
To compensate I suggest making leveling past 40 much harder so it will require much more exp or maybe even cost exotic points to buy talent points after that. Either way, the current number is too low. Specially without a respec function. -
10 Dec, '21
Insaneguru Mergedyes, this.
"Alternatively, create separate talent points for combat, exploration, crafting, and solo. Cap it out at a reasonable level as you have done now, but more talent points overall to where a player can spec into a specific combat style, a specific type of crafting/construction, a specific type of exploration/harvesting/hunting, and separating out solo points. This way the player doesn't have to struggle to choose as hard between quality of life and being able to deal with combat."
Allows specialization into each tree and allows a player to be productive/feel good in the group or solo. -
10 Dec, '21
Radio100% agreed. I feel no need to progress in the game other than maybe join other players on some of the later prospects. Even then XP is 100% ussless.
-
11 Dec, '21
Cipher 8 MergedAfter level 40 give us 1 talent per 5 levels.
So at 45, 50, 55, 60+ slow it down but still award some progression.
You could even do it after lvl 40 give us 3 talent point every 10th level then after lvl80 slow it down further to 1 per 10 or some other ratio that you like for balancing.
I'm not for having too many talent points but give those who want to see that reward keep popping up this fix and meet in the middle. Everyone happy.
*Idea came from discord user HellPap#1871 originally. -
11 Dec, '21
Ninwah MergedI *ONLY* Support 1 talent per 5 levels and even so i am VERY iffy on that even.
-
11 Dec, '21
Jack MergedThis still seems way too restrictive to me. There are *hundreds* of talents in this game. Why on earth should you only be given like ~50 or so? I agree you shouldn't be given enough for every single talent, but I think at least half, or even a QUARTER would be good. But instead we're given something like... 10% of the points needed to fill out the entire tree.
-
11 Dec, '21
Johnny D Mergedwell im not sure how else to put this but i think after level 40 one should get at least A(1) talent point every 5 levels or 2 for every 10 thereafter. now i see 3 blueprints are awarded for every level after 40 but maybe a talent should be added as suggested? thats my opinion and its a little extra for getting to lvl 99 as you guys have upped the lvl cap.

Timothy Mcclung Mergedwhen i reached level 41 i only received the usual 3 tech points but no talent points. then when i reached 42 it was the same story. I was in the desert at the time of leveling up, it wasnt until i entered the forest again that i noticed the game telling me i should have received 1 talent point and 3 tech points. Not looking for anything just want to make sure the game can work at its full potential as i have been having a blast playing since launch weekend.
