[Suggestion] Tier 5 - Automation
Tier 5 should have automation.
Tier 5 Deep Ore Extractors that can spit out onto conveyor belts, or new drones that can collect from Deep Ore Extractors for you. Along with a central crafting server that can be connected to your storages to craft from.
Drones alone make for a great addition to Tier 5 with their versatility.
- Medical Drones that automatically apply bandages when you get a debuff, or auto-use health regen tonics on you when your health is below 25%, etc...
- Resource Drones that can go mining or felling for you. They stay high enough to not risk attacks from predators. They can have their own alterations in the Alteration Bench, such as: 1% chance to instantly fell a tree, auto-pickup wood, more inventory spaces, etc...
For the people that argue against automation, if your ONLY argument is that YOU don't play that way, then don't. Literally, just don't use it, if it's added. Simple as that. Otherwise, it's the most logical next step in the advancement of technology.

Sebbo MergedMoin Prospectors,
I have some more suggestions regarding the tech tree.
We have brilliant brains equipped with sticks and stones. This could lead to the following set of basic automation items as already known to humankind:
- Mills (driven by wind and/or water); usefull like a mortar or just to transport water to your housing or to drive some crafting stations (sawmills f.e.)
- aqueducts; just like the romans had some. Lots of combination possibilities with mills.
- boats or something tha floats on water. I already imagine houseboats in riverland.
- basic automation; as mentioned above, the power of wind and water could be put to use for Sawmills (generating wodden house parts), elevators...
- the wheel; one of the bestmost inventions regardin transport of a lot of heavy items like wood, ore and dead bears.
I mean, we are speaking business here and that a lot of engineers are sent to a dangerous but conquerable planet. I am pretty sure they will manage to conquer and evol -

Sponge188 MergedThe ability to use the power of the streams/waterfalls to power certain items would be cool. Sort of like a hydro plant. No idea how that would work but an alternative to electric power from fuel. Wind generator would be sweet too. I feel like you also could have stages with this with different power outputs.
Examples:
All wouldn't need to be in Level 4. Could power smaller items with a Lower Tier wind generator.
You could power a couple lights for your house off a lower tier wind generator. -

CanisDirusPrime MergedCurrently, there's no way to view how much electricity you're producing and what's using it. If this is implemented, we would need to be able to see what's produced and how much and where it's being used. It would be nice to have a computer monitoring station for this type of thing.

krutors Merged1. I like to see a small amount of automation
like a chest/machine there give transportation be-twin machines and inventory's in a small/medium range can be expanded by placing more nearby
so i no longer need to be looking in all the storage boxes and work stations for what i need
to craft with.
so i can just craft if the items is anywhere within chest/machine
2.loong distance transportation resources
like a pneumatic tube machine and pneumatic tube tool
the pneumatic tube machine can be used like a hub fore the pneumatic tube
it will send anything from the inventory it is placed IN front of the pneumatic machine to another
pneumatic machine. It can be designated in its interface where the items need to go if any other pneumatic machines is connected with the pneumatic tubes
this will allow players to transport ore from far away places like deep drills ore other bases -

Jay Morris MergedJust a suggestion, but one small thing that could really help in the game would be the addition of say "pipes" to help move/transport items from place a to place b.
E.g.
-deep ore extractor is mining iron
-deep ore extractor pushes iron to a furnace
-Furnace pushes smelted iron to box
Could expand to other things e.g. drop box on building that pipes(moves) items to other boxes.
This would be more for open world and outpost -

Noxy4u MergedAn Auto farm with a small inventory like the Deep Drills that produces productively Agricultural Produce. Also, should have a soil slot so that the soil can be refreshed (Countering the Progressive decay of soil effect)

Jake Barr MergedHi First I'd like to say thank that for making this game. its very interesting and very enjoyable. someone who suffers from mental heath and a learning disorder ADHD it takes my mind away from everything that i deal with.
So it would be great to see in the future some sort of base automation.
so basically what you would do out everything in a box and it auto sort to all the different boxes or cupboard using power. I think it would players out a lot. -

DimaIt's a pity that this topic doesn't have enough votes, people are voting for other weird stuff. Although this automation is really necessary for the game because a lot of routine has appeared in the game.

Oddvious MergedGame needs more automation.
Maybe getting a buffalo to periodically cart autominer contents back to base.
Maybe dogs or wolves to hunt and drag animal product back to base.
A chest that attaches to the furnace to spit out completed ingots or to suck in ores.
It's not about making the game easier, but after a while to knock down some of the tedious tasks so you can focus on missions and long exploration.
A repair bot or a monkey with a hammer would be nice for basic repairs. -

Adrian MergedAutomation should reduce repetitive work, not replace exploration. You still need to discover deposits, defend outposts, gather exotic resources, and build infrastructure. Automation simply rewards players who invest dozens of hours into an Open World.
First of all: conveyor belts. Straight, corner, incline, anything. Adjustable speed. Can run through walls and foundations.
Example system: Drill -> Conveyor -> Furnace -> Conveyor -> Storage.
Other types of conveyors: splitters with programmable filters, mergers to combine several lines into one conveyor and elevators to bring materials upwards.
Quarry: An absolutely massive machine (you don't craft it, you craft a blueprint and then build it) that digs into the ground generating tons of resources like: stone, oxite, sulfur, silica. Very expensive (20k electricity), but effective.
Storage Silos: better storing option, accepts only ores, ingots and coal, when connected to conveyor belts and electricity it automatically sorts -
