  I had to go out of the desert area to get an exotic, so while I was out I got 5 Moa's and 3 Buffalo. When I got them all back to the house I turned around to craft the textile table after laying down food troughs and water troughs and all of them disappeared except 1 buffalo. While I was looking for them the last buffalo disappeared.

  Just to confirm - were these fully tamed, as in you can lead them around and put saddles on them? Or the juvenile versions?

  Yes, I have same issue, lead two young Moa birds into corral. Un-lead them, went into cabin to make troughs and bedding and when I came out, they were gone, disappeared, looked into distance they were nowhere around. They had food and water.

  the management of these animals is not good, if you go for a walk with them they will very quickly die of hunger and even if you leave them in a stone enclosure with bed and food they die quickly.

  I don't even bother anymore because they just vanish for no reason. Even if I get them to stay while I play the session that I tamed them in when I log out and back in they are just gone.

  After taming the MOA mount. I have traveled on foot to any location. Leaving the mount locked in the pen. Upon return the mount is gone. I have looked on the map for the mount icon. No sign.

  My mounts disappeared this morning. I had three, a Moa and two buffalo, but lost a Moa with a riding saddle and a buffalo with the pack. All were missing but I found one buffalo glitched into a waterfall. I was able to mount it and ride it home. I've tried restarting the game, switching characters then switching back, and rebooting my computer. Does anyone have any advice on retrieving my lost mounts?

  I've noticed there are a couple posts with this issue already, but there was no feedback involved on them. I just don't want this issue to be forgotten about.
  
  I am playing an open world mission as a place to just be able to build a home and have a place to go to when I'm not doing the main mission lines. I have tamed 2 buffalos and a wolf in this world so far. The first buffalo had a saddle on him, and I left him at home while i went to do a SMPL3 mission that I thought he might die on. When i got back to base, he was nowhere to be found, and I saw no logging of a death nor a pack laying around anywhere. The same thing happened when i left my replacement buffalo, along with my wolf. I don't want to have to bring tames that I fear will die, with me, but this issue is making it to where I feel as if trying to get a high level tame wont happen.
  
  Any suggestions or future fixes would be great. I love this game and plan to continue playing, it just sucks losing hard work.

  Is it because of a respawn of a predator ( e.g. bear) that is occuring periodically within the area of your base where it can acccess your pets/mounts before finding his way out while your away and by the time you return the carcasses have decayed and non-existent. It can be fixed by installing the deterrent device if so. It is something to rule out anyway if this is something for the devs to fix.

  Playing solo, I have had 2 wolves, a boar and my high level Terranus just disappear. Other tames are still there (chickens, sheep, Moa). Base is fenced/spiked off and with creature deterrent placed. They are left with powered water and omni-food. No evidence of death, they are just gone. They seem to disappear one at a time, during random missions and when I'm out extracting exotics.

  We play on a dedicated server for quite some time with a big base, where we have a yard for animals. First one dog vanished, where i thought he mightve died for some reason and i didnt notice the info in the chat. But now out of our animal farm with around 20-30 animals in the yard only 5 are left and even the cat that had the respawn skill is no where to be found. Im quite sure one of us 2 wouldve noticed one of the 15 chat messages of animals dying. So either the notifications dont work or animals just vanish randomly, which kinda sucks, bc all of them where of quite a high level

  This... This is seriously ticking me off with this game. Leave camp or go to sleep then all of a sudden, my lvl 30 whatever at the time is gone. Rolling back the prospect works but its seriously annoying to have to do every single time.

  I took two Buffalo mounts into a cave, loaded them up with ores. Rode one of them out and realized the other one did not follow. Went back into the cave and he is nowhere to be found. His tag on the map says he is in the cave. I looked above the cave as well. Went back to my base, which is not far, and I expected it to reappear at base, but it never did. I have logged out and back in many times now and it is still showing its tag in the cave. I'm pretty sure it fell into a hole, or even off the map.....
  Someone suggested to move very far away ( a map grid or two ) and log out and back in to force the game to refresh the mount and move it to a viable location.

  I got the Pet bundle DLC and ordered the German Shepard. never brought it out of my base. Today when i logged in I noticed he was gone. no map arrow or counted in the mount count.

  Same thing happened to me, 2 out of 4 mounts (The basic horse) just poof, gone. Two other mounts
  (one horse and one buffalo) are still there. Kind of a pain as the 2 horses were other player mounts
  and now have to level them.

  So here's a solution I noticed. The mounts move. My guess the server thinks they're stuck on something and when you get within render distance they disappear. The solution i found was to make the mounts lay down and that's it. Never had a problem after.

  Tamed animals will randomly despawn. I am noticing after 3x times this has happened, it appears to do with certain skill points being used.

  Hello, I finished the game yesterday with 2 buffaloes and a horse. All have saddles. Horse level 30. I just started the game to continue playing and noticed that I only have 2 buffaloes left. I checked the map and there is no sign of the horse. The horse is simply gone.

  I have now started the game from a backup of the last game.
  I have removed the last game .json file from the folder, renamed the last .json.backup file to .json (backup gone).
  Result: Horse is back.

  This is still currently an issue. I have had 4 Moa's, 3 buffalo, 2 wolves, 2 hogs, 1 chicken and 1 cow disappear.
  Whenever my brother and I go to do missions which require us to travel across the map, when we come back, we find that animals have just disappeared without a trace. There is no message that they were killed, and I setup wolves/hogs on guard duty to prevent this from happening and have setup a creature deterrent.

  I can confirm two instances of this happening to me on Styx.
  
  Once while I was out mining with a mount, the 4 others at base all disappeared.
  Once I noticed while in-base after refreshing the Pet buff that one of my 5 were missing.
  
  In both cases I checked the Chat log and confirmed there were no mentions of tames dying, only my connection to my local server.
  
  It feels super terrible to put dozens of hours in with a tame, leveling them up, just to disappear to no fault of your own.

  This happened to me twice on the same drop. First, my Terrenus disappeared, then my Moa. The map still shows the icons with their names. The locations seem to suggest the mounts are inside a cave, but when I go there to look, I find nothing. In this case, I think it happened as soon as the taming process was completed. I led the tames back to base, fed and watered them, set them to stop following, then went on with other tasks while I waited for the taming process to complete. When I went to check on them, they were gone from inside my base, which had no open doors through which they could have wandered.

  Happened on our dedicated server several times already. 2 triggers that I've noticed that cause mounts / pets to disappear:
  1) All players leave the server and server unloads the prospect. When first player joins the server - some of mounts might be missing.
  2) Disconnects. A player riding a mount suffers lags, then gets disconnected - and the mount is gone forever.
  
  It's quite discouraging to lose a mount of say 50+ level :(
  
  Dear devs, please let me know if any logs, dumps or debugs may help to pinpoint the issue.

  Need a teleport to player option for mounts when they are stuck in a wall. obviously would need to be short range. Troughs already have the ability to look for mounts. Could use that feature but on your character

  I've lost 3 level 25 wolves and a Moa in the past week, they just seem to vanish, no message. Go to bed and they are gone in the morning.

  I have had multiple lvl 45-50 mounts vanish as well as multiple farm animals and dog/cat type creatures currently playing on promithus never had this issue while on olympus or styx

  Loaded into my Prometheus OW a couple weeks ago and all of my small pets are missing: 1x black cat, 1x chicken, and 1x sheep.
  
  Large mounts (wild horse, Moa, Bison, milk cow) were unaffected and are still in the game.

  I've had this happen with several animals a tamed wolf, moa and buffalo which was annoying as it had a seeding cart with T3 Plow on it and isn't exactly cheap/easy to make on a save that i play with friends

  I've noticed recently that my chickens keep disappearing when I sign into my open world on Prometheus. I only have one chicken at a time, and each time I replace it, within a day or two I'll sign in and it's gone. Is this a known issue?

  we are hosting a Dedicated Server and were Building a Ranch there, we noticed missing animals on our pasture. Mounts in the stable were always there but the ones without a Fundation keep on disappearing, they are entirely gone and we cant find any notes in the console about it. Wolves, Moa, Sheeps, Cows, all gone... please find a fix. We doesnt want to build Houses everywhere.

  I will add my voice to this one. My friend has lost two mounts on my open-world prospects due to disconnection errors on his side. When he reconnected, his mount was gone completely, as well as everything on it.

  My buffalo dissapeared with cart on it entire filled with loot. I was running and farming resources with 3 buffalos with carts following me and one of them dissapeared but in menu it is still counted. got 2 moa, wolf, 2 horses and 2 buffalos but the count is 8 as if the vanished buffalo still counted.

  This is a long-standing issue where mounts and their carts vanish entirely. This causes permanent loss of resources and progression. A bug with this level of impact should not still exist.
