[Bug] Phenotypes Are Broken
After the Week 221 Update the animal Phenotypes seem to not be working. Prior to this patch I was getting offspring with phenotypes matching their parents and occasionally they mutated. Then post patch I caught and bred hundreds of Moas with no phenotypes showing up at all. The bloodlines and other traits seem to be working. I did get a phenotype showing up in a Buffalo during this time. Maybe it's just the Moas that are broken.

Rare is Rare. And Because Rare, trading for colors has been extremely popular in multiplayer.
After 10 generations of Moa 4x4 breeding, (no multiplayer trading) I finally caught #6 green... "From the Ashes." My understanding is that the roll for color change is strongest with that talent, and it might be nerfed in the future. -

Jason MergedWhat is the point in the Hunter's eye talent and the prime variants talent? I have easily bred over 100 buffalo and have captured at least 100 wild moa and I have never seen a color mutation. For 6 talent points they feel like an absolute waste if the chance to get color mutations is so low to begin with.

lizardmilk MergedI bred 47 generations of MOA with the base skin since the first two i tamed gave me that. i had MAX phenotype and gene for tamed and found moas chance in my talents. like the entire genes tree is MAX. i reap all benefits. i have not gotten a single blue haired or green or any other skinned moa in all these generations. it also seems to have locked the bloodline down to wild even though i had a better and rarer bloodline to start. the genetic stats also softlock and plateau at 60 points total. im 7 generations in trying to get 70 so all stats are 10, but that keeps rearranging the 60 points randomly. there seems to be no way to earn a max stat apex bloodline moa. but most importantly what this post is about, is the color. phenotype has stayed base regardless of my chances.

Edymnion MergedRNGesus giveth, and RNGesus taketh away.
We just got our first new moa phenotype last night. Red. After at least a dozen generations of breeding. The odds of it happening even with maxed out skills is very low.
Tip, try to get an Unstable genotype and get it's level maxed out ASAP. That added boost goes a long way. -
