Dynamic Fair Weather and Renewable Energy Variability

15 votes

Storms in Icarus already create great tension.

But fair weather feels too static.

A clear day is almost always the same day.

What if normal weather had more personality and renewable power reacted to it?

Suggestion:

Add subtle fair weather variation such as:

• Light cloud cover
• Morning fog or mist
• Hazy days
• Calm versus breezy conditions
• More visual skybox variation during normal weather

And let renewables respond lightly to it:

• Solar output fluctuates slightly with light conditions
• Wind power varies mildly with natural wind

Important:

This is not about adding punishment.

No structure damage.
No exposure penalties.
No bad weather mechanics.
No extra survival stress.

These remain good weather states.

Just with more nuance.

Why this could be great:

• More immersion
• Fair weather feels alive, not repetitive
• Batteries become more meaningful
• Hybrid grids become more interesting
• Infrastructure feels connected to the environment
• Adds positive environmental surprises, not just hazards

Storms give Icarus intensity.

Fair weather could give it nuance.

Could be a small change with surprisingly big worldbuilding and Immersion impact.
