[Suggestion] Beacons should persist across Prospects to make constructing them worthwhile
Beacons are a great addition to Icarus, however the resources and time required to construct one are significant enough that by the time one is created it's usually not worth it any more, especially as similar can be achieved with a third party map easily.
If beacons persisted between Prospects however they would become incredibly useful, as a great way to mark key locations you found especially useful during that mission. This adds an extra layer to progression as players could gradually build a really useful, highly custom in-game map that grows with every mission. Players in the community could become sought after because in addition to their unique talent/tech tree, they also have really useful locations mapped out.
Radar could also persist between Prospects, giving players who put the effort in to scout good radar locations and build the tech something valuable.
These modules could degrade over time to keep players invested in upkeep, but I don't think it's a necessity.

The game should be about building something on Icarus. So beacons help you map the surface and are just a simple example of trying to build permanence on the planet. You shouldn't make me go google where the closest map is when I have been there.. I would also accept the map automatically marking caves when i enter them as an alternative option to this. But I can also appreciate the need to build things on icarus so beacons are also an interesting option.
A) Beacons should be tier 3, not tier 4.
B) You should be able to make a permanent marker on the map by building a beacon, I don't like the idea of maintenance. We have enough of that.
C) They should be customizable... ideally to have a cave icon or a drill icon or whatever...
There should be an objective to find more things like this that you can build towards. I spend a lot of time standing around waiting for drills... there needs to be objectives to accomplish while I wait. Ideally, I would be building towards something.
