Allow multiple notations on the map, permanent marks that are saved with the game/mission. You could have icons for caves, home base, bosses, other points. Or allow the player to mark a spot and put their own notation in about it.

So a beacon and world boss module but you don’t need to go to the place. Personally I like the idea of having to go there to place the beacon
