  i got up to the 1st desert scan location but instead of a snap point for radar it was a random concrete wall and now i cant complete mission and have now wasted hours of my life

  Having a similar issue here as well. There's nothing for the radar to snap on to. We had no issues scanning the other two spots, but we despite logging out and back in, and restarting the game we're still stuck.

  In my instance I completed both drill throughs and made it to the desert. The mission updated and gave my next task as scanning the three locations in the desert. Instead of continuing I went back to my home base and restocked and repaired my gear. I then logged off for the night. When I began to continue the next day the mission progression list had reverted back to then point of having to start at the beginning of gathering the drill to drill through the caves again. When I got to the first cave it was still open as was the second cave into the desert. I then went to the designated spot and there is no area where I can set the scanner. I then went back to the beginning and collected the drill once more and the progression tracker advanced. When I got to the cave there was the drill location marker hovering on the imaginary cave, but I cannot mount the drill. Thus preventing me from advancing the mission tasks. I cannot complete the mission.

  Radar lost in first area (desert), restarted the mission, cant place the first drill in the mountain wall, which is already broken and cant move on with mission request and no area to place radar again in desert area.

  I myself just need a drill added to the resupply drop. Currently it only gives the radars. I lost the drill when the wall was destroyed.

  Still an issue, we just ran into it after realizing we weren't prepared, so we abandoned the mission after drilling through the cave, and now we can't progress because the wall doesn't exist for the drill to snap to...

  Hi there, we got the situation with the non-placeable drill on our dedicated server.
  Now all Missions after this one stay unreachable.
  
  It's an over 2-year-old issue. Is there any solution to this except wiping the mission progress files?

  Hi Falk. Do you have any screenshots or screen recordings of it not working? Are you on a p2p server? Or a dedicated server? Is the snap point missing or will the drill just not deploy? Thanks.

  got the same problem, failed the mission, started it again and not i can snap in the drill as there is no wall. they haven´t fixet this after all this time? Wtf.... seems like they don´t care, how fun.

  Got through the cave, died at the first scan point in the desert, got back and looted my body but the radar was gone. Looked various places for it but no luck. Abandoned the mission to get another radar scanner thing and got to the wall with the drill only to have the same problem as everyone else. Can't mount a drill on a wall that isn't there.
  Also of note- the text on the left hand side with all the objectives glitches out after a character relog. I had made it all the way through both cave sections but it told me I was missing the parts where I had to make the canisters for the fuel. Because the quest text was so long it cut off the bottom portion that says "press escape to get more mission equipment" so I didn't know that was an option. There was no way to scroll down to see the remaining objectives either. Sorry no screenshots- abandoned the mission before I thought of it.

  Elissa, please see the photo added in 2024 by Riksis, attached here. If you complete the drilling process and then cancel the mission, the cave is permanently open and the mission can not be completed.
  
  I am on an open world dedicated server experiencing this issue.
